• Oversee a 21-bed capacity unit in a medical/oncology and Rehabilitation unit in the American Hospital Dubai.
• Serve as wingman to the head nurse in accomplishing administration tasks like staffing, duty roster, and competency of staff members, monitoring and checking of monthly timesheets, quality management, Performance Improvement Projects, and monitoring of Key Performance Indicators
• Nursing link educator in American hospital Dubai, ensure the timely and smooth transition of staff members from probationary period to regular staff members. Monitor and update core competencies and unit-specific competencies, give the new RNS joiner competency by giving them lectures and complete checklist for tracheostomy, colostomy, ileostomy, feed tube, folly and iv insertion, PCA, how well handling chemo patient, heparin infusion protocol, pain assessment, ELSE.
• Ensure proper guidance and safe practice of all staff members on duty.
• Ensure proper handling, documentation, safe-keeping, and administration of high alert medications, narcotics, and controlled drugs as mandated by the Dubai Health Authority.
• Receive and put away stocks from the materials department to prevent loss charges and maintain the adequacy of supplies.
• Allocate patients to staff members and coordinates patient care with the nursing supervisor and bed management team.
• Monitor patient’s condition and assess their needs to provide the best possible care and advice.
• Observe and interpret patient’s symptoms and communicate them to physicians.
• Collaborate with physicians and nurses to devise individualized care plans for patients.
• Perform routine procedures (blood pressure measurements, administering injections etc.) and fill in patients’ charts
• Adjust and administer patient’s medication and provide treatments according to physician's orders
• Inspect the facilities and act to maintain excellent hygiene and safety (decontaminating equipment, sanitizing surfaces, preparing beds etc.)
• Provide instant medical care in emergencies
• Supervise and train new RNs and nursing assistants
• Foster a supportive and compassionate environment to care for patients and their families
• Implement physicians’ orders, administer medications, start IVs, perform treatments, procedures and special tests, and document treatment as required by company policy and local/state/federal rules and regulations.
