Responsibilities:
• Assisting in the hiring process and conflict resolving between local staff and diplomats.
• Hiring, selection and placement of employees.
• Periodic training of new diplomats of the Visa/Consular Section and training of newly hired local staff.
• Interviewing visa applicants and assisting the Head of the Visa/Consular Section in deciding over visa applications.
• Acting as liaison with local lawyers to follow up on court proceedings of Spanish detainees and verification of documents.
• Offering consular assistance/advisory services to the public, face to face, as well as through telephone and email. This includes presenting Embassy view point in crisis situations.
• Assisting the Head of the Visa/Consular Section in planning and implementation of security measures and evacuation plans for the staff and/or Spanish nationals in crisis situations.
Accomplishments:
- Decorated by the King of Spain with the Civil Merit Award "La Cruz".
• Coordination enhancement strategy. Conceptualized a system for verification of documents that linked two main sections of the Embassy, attestations and visas, in such a way, that lead to time saving and early detection of fraudulent practices.
• Increased functional efficiency. Introduced a system of reception of applications and queries that resulted in optimum usage of human resources, thereby, leading to smoother operations.
The online Certificate program consists of the following 12 Courses: 1. Issues and Concepts in Equal Employment Opportunities Law. 2. Employment Laws for the HR Professional. 3. Fundamentals of Retirement Benefits. 4. Fundamentals of Welfare and Flexible Benefits. 5. Organizational Culture and Work/Life Balance. 6. Expanding the Compensation Model: External and Structural Considerations. 9. Selection and Staffing: The Selection Process. 10. Selection and Staffing: The Staffing Process. 11. Out of these, Courses 3 and 4 have already been completed successfully.
I obtained 79% percent marks and stood second in one of the four semesters. As part of my Masters program, I did an Internship with Pakistan Tobacco Company whose parent company is British American Tobacco. My areas of specialization were Marketing and Finance.
