Engineer (Operation): (July 2012 - present)
Working in Pakistan Petroleum Limited (PPL) at Sui Gas Field, Baluchistan. Prime responsibilities comprises mainly of followings:
• Ensure safe operation and consistent production, maintenance and improvement of plant efficiency.
• Evaluate and interpret of operating data of gas sweetening banks, dehydration units, boilers, water treatment plant and gas turbines on daily basis to monitor plant performance.
• To collect daily & monthly plant production and operating data, evaluate unit efficiencies by relating chemical and energy consumption to plant throughput. Identifies possible trends, prepares reports with comments and submits for review.
• Identify problems and offer solutions with technical logics and firm recommendations for efficient, reliable and safe operation of plants.
• Plan for shutdown and annual overhauling meetings to decide time schedule, work requirements and prioritize tasks.
• To review Laboratory analysis & Gas Chromatograph reports, and recommend corrective actions to maintain quality and quantity of Sales Gas as per GSA.
• Carry out process simulation through Aspen HYSYS to analyse process Plant operations and suggest practical solutions for improvement.
• Formulate new SOPs as per prevailing quality and environmental standards.
• Implement requirements of ISO 9001 and OHSAS 18001 in respective areas. Maintain proper documentation and reporting of system in respective area.
• Conduct surveillance, recertification audits pertaining to QMS and OHSAS systeams. Also conduct technical and energy audit of respective areas for improvement purpose.
• Suggest plant modifications and de-bottlenecking and extension projects to enhance efficiency and improvement purpose.
Deputy Engineer (Process): (July 2010 - June 2012)
Worked as Deputy Engineer (Process) at Sui Gas Field, Baluchistan in Pakistan Petroleum Limited (PPL) . Key responsibilities at this position were: • Carry out testing of Emergency Shutdown system of entire plant and suggest remedial actions / means for corrective actions.
• Provide support to Process and Utilities operations with emphasis on optimization for energy efficiency, flaring reduction and troubleshooting.
• Assist in design of plant modifications and de-bottlenecking and extension projects.
• Ensures that completed work has been inspected and that all tests have been satisfactorily completed.
• Ensure implementation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) and HSE related procedures / policies.
• Coordinate with field staff for startup/stoppage/pressurization/depressurization / isolation/normalization, of Gas Sweetening Purification Banks / Dehydration units and ancillary equipments.
• Preparation of Abnormality Report, in case of any abnormality.
• Implement Permit to Work system and issuance of Cold, Hot, Confined Space Entry, Vehicle Entry, Digging / Excavation and Electrical Isolation Permits.
• Ensure Safe and Smooth operation of Gas, LPG and NGL recovery facilities.
Assistant Engineer (Process): (April 2008- June 2010)
Worked as Assistant Engineer (Process) at Sui Purification Plant in Pakistan Petroleum Limited (PPL)
• Monitor and recommend updates to operation and safety procedures.
• To prepare checklists for monitoring and to ascertain equipment readiness after maintenance.
• Carry out testing of Emergency Shutdown system of entire plant and suggest remedial actions / means for corrective actions.
• Preparation of Abnormality Report, in case of any abnormality.
• Implement Permit to Work system and issuance of Cold, Hot, Confined Space Entry, Vehicle Entry, Digging / Excavation and Electrical Isolation Permits.
• Ensure Safe and Smooth operation of Dehydration Units.
• Control Gas wells Operation using SCADA
• Participate in Wells maintenance activities including Work Over and Bottom Hole Pressure and Bottom Hole Temperature Survey.
Trainee Engineer (Chemical): (March 2006 - March 2008)
Joined PPL as Trainee Engineer (chemical) and worked in different fields during training period to get hands on experience of the job.
ACHIEVEMENTS
• Achieved Quality Management System (ISO 9001) and OHSAS - 18001, being Plant coordinator. Also assisted in retaining the integrity of system and certification.
• Prepared feasibility, P & ID, and designed completely new setup for Flash Gas Recovery System at Gas Sweetening Plant to save 2 MMscfd daily gas flow.
• Suggested isolation scheme to make possible overhauling of Knockout drums of Flash Gases flare stacks for the first time in Plant history.
• Implementation and awareness of SAP system for better understanding. This was achieved by developing Workflows/PMOs, Notifications, making malfunctioning history, making job plans, Preventive Maintenance routines, recording/archiving maintenance and operational histories.
• Played key role in restructuring of equipments in SAP and recommended valuable suggestions to make it more effective and simple.
• Ensured and achieved design availability and reliability of operations, utility and safety systems, through effective coordination within planned budget.
• Assessed, evaluated and executed redesigning & replacement of complete Cooling water network. Almost 80, 000 gallons of water was saved per day after commissioning of this new network.
• Controlled and normalized Purification Plant after black shutdowns.
• Achieved Best HSE man for the year - 2010.
• MBA (Management) with 2.80 GPA from Virtual University of Pakistan in 2011.
• Bachelor of Chemical Engineering with Honors (76.7% marks) from University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Lahore in Jan. 2006.
• Intermediate (F.Sc) with 1st position (74.2% marks) in College from Govt. College Sadik Abad in 2000.
• Matriculation with 2nd position (81.9 % marks) in School from Govt. Model High School Sadik Abad in 1998.
