Motivate Publishing is a leading international media representative in UAE. It incorporates
campaign, Gulf Business, Business Traveller ME, The Week and What’s On AUH.
Key responsibilities
Managing sales operations, and performance. Assuming responsibility for finance and
managing partners. Overseeing the maximization of revenue earning. Overseeing human
resources.
Ø SALES, OPERATIONS AND PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT:
o In conjunction with other Publishers, realise sales revenue targets for each of
the MOTIVATE platforms (print / digital / events) under your group and
ensure all key staff are clear on monthly/ annual sales objectives.
o Oversee development of MOTIVATE interests by leading and managing
individual members within your team.
o Develop multi-channel communication ideas that complement and magnify
client strategies, using all available resources including research, creative,
design, editorial, digital and marketing teams to maximise overall revenue
opportunities for MOTIVATE
o Collaborate and communicate with other Publishers in managing and
maximising revenue opportunities from the market, with a focus on
developing ‘non traditional revenue’ (NTR) gains
o Under my leadership develop my team’s revenue potentials by leading,
mentoring and managing their efficiencies by proactive & respectful
leadership methods and ensuring all daily/ weekly processes and systems are
utilised. Constantly adjust paradigms.
o Assume responsibility of ensuring my sales team achieves monthly and
ultimately annual revenue targets in line with business strategy as set by the
General Manager of Sales, General Manager
Ø Finance and Managing Partner
o Assume responsibility for fiscal management within my team in making sure
all expenditures, remunerations, and incentives are within agreed sales
budgetary limitations as set by the General Manager Sales, General Manager
Finance and Managing Partner
o Develop strong relationships with senior decision makers in agencies and
clients and leverage these relationships to uncover business opportunities to
help MOTIVATE sales teams constantly get ‘upstream’
o In collaboration with other Publishers, help develop and seamlessly execute a
clear MOTIVATE group sales strategy that will clearly communicate how each
brand under MOTIVATE will achieve set revenue targets, and wherever
possible overachieve against target whilst maintaining editorial integrity and
brand values of each publication.
o Develop clear an achievable sales plan for each MOTIVATE brand in my group
and utilise resources (ie marketing, digital) to affect best outcomes for
MOTIVATE as a business (ie editorial, brand values etc).
o As part of the strategy, in close collaboration with other Publishers and as
directed by the General Manager Sales ensure clear steps are implemented to
prevent internal revenue ‘cannibalisation’ between MOTIVATE brands
o Drive revenue through the business in order to achieve set revenue targets
and increase market share of all revenue expenditures onto all MOTIVATE
magazines
o As directed by the General Manager Sales proactively seek new business
opportunities for revenue by developing additional and/or new platforms for
current MOTIVATE brands (ie online, digital etc) in conjunction with digital,
editorial and marketing
o As directed, consistently aim to improve retention potentials of all MOTIVATE
clients and agencies
o Ensures timely and proactive reporting of all sales activities as required to/
by the General Manager of Sales
o Monitor the individual sales performance of the appointed sales team - KPI’s,
ALM, Pipeline, IMS and call reports - to ensure that individual targets are met.
In cases of underperformance, take corrective action
o As part of the team get involved at all levels of sales operations to ensure best
practices, allowing key figures to manage with autonomy & empowerment
o Work with an ethos of making oneself obsolete by creating a strong team
dynamic and succession plan
