I was responsible for developing, building and maintaining relations with key media channels in the Middle East including print, broadcast and online media.
Tasks:
• Liaising on an everyday basis with clients and the media, often via telephone and email
• Relationship building and networking with colleagues, clients and the media;
• Working to develop client proposals and implement the PR activity;
• Preparing regular reports and attending meetings to assess the progress of the PR campaign
• Researching, writing and distributing press releases to targeted media
• Promoting news stories and features to the media
• Collating and analyzing media coverage
• Event management, including press conferences and promotional events
• Attending and promoting client events to the media
• Managing the PR aspect of a possible crisis situation
I worked on the sampling team with Nescafe. This job taught me how to work with others, how to use different marketing strategies, and how to present a product with a friendly energetic attitude. I worked excellent as a team member as well as an individual.
I was hired to do secretarial work at Top Fashion Accessory Store; however I proceeded onto sales and proved my abilities to my boss, as well as my co-workers. I gained self-confidence through confronting a diverse range of customers and learned good work ethic.
University life opened up a lot of new experiences for me. I joined the Marketing Team which gave students the opportunity to market the university in the real world. I also joined the Drama Club and acted in an independent film that is still in progress but compares university life in the Middle East to Western culture. I was also given the opportunity to be a co-driver in the Jordan Rally 2007; it was the most invigorating experience and I gained a lot of insight from it.
I maintained a B+ average all throughout high school I was involved with many activities. One thing I can say I am most proud of is the fact that I had the chance to tutor younger kids. I helped out in the library assisting the librarian with that extra hand. I love sports. I played on the basketball team and gained a certificate for my outstanding performance. I took the SAT, TOEFL, and IGCSE exams which required me to be very studious and it paid off when I entered an American University.
