Joined SKF Pakistan as General Manager - Industrial Distribution and was promoted as Managing Director in six months time. Successfully launched Power Transmission Products in Pakistan after thorough market research and planning. Achieved a record growth of 170% in PT in the year 2009 over a strong base year of 2008. Received Regional Excellence Award in 2010 on business performance. Despite tough economical and fragile political situation accomplished 200% TVA growth in 2008 and double digit volumetric growth in 2009. Achieved business results through multi channel distribution, geographical expansion and appointment of distributors to fill the market gap. Launched branded retail outlets program to strengthen brand identity, serve medium & small size customers and curb counterfeit. Was awarded Global Excellence Award for ongoing Rescue & Rehabilitation work in remote flood affected area of Dadu, Sindh.
As Head of Non-Fuel Retail (NFR) objective was to make the largest network of 3800 retail outlets spread all over Pakistan a destination place. In a short span of time brought ATMs, Courier Services and Food Chain at premium locations. Revamped convenience stores at retail by working on brand identity, product assortment and product display.
My prime responsibility was to undertake new projects and monitor overall performance of all the companies in the group operating in Pakistan on the basis of well defined Key Performance Indicators and objectives.
Business area identification for future expansion and projects management were prime areas of my portfolio. Identification and evaluation of business ideas, presentation of feasibility report & financial analysis based on marketing research, approval from major stake holders, negotiation on agreements, coordination, supervision and implementation of project plans till execution were my key areas of focus. Was also responsible for communication with foreign business partners regarding project execution, matters related to finance & implementation of agreements.
In a period of two years, completed following projects successfully:
Acquired exclusive Costa Coffee, UK Franchise in Pakistan and opened first outlet in Karachi.
Acquired Costa Coffee Franchise in UK in designated cluster with eight outlets in operation.
Established a Courier Company in UAE.
Joined the company as Sales Engineer to market new product lines and selling maintenance solutions across the industry. Was promoted as Regional Manager and subsequently as Country Manager in November 1997. As Country Manager, I was responsible for recruitment & training of sales engineers, development of marketing strategy, marketing and management of overall company performance and profitability.
IBA was set up by Wharton Business School, USA and is the oldest business institute established outside North America. Possess the record of highest GPA ever achieved in International Business Program.
