• Test, Installation and Configuration of core infrastructure comprised of 800 Network Elements at 200 different sites in 50 different cities of Pakistan.
• Develop, implement, and maintain the processes and documentation for network management
(e.g. asset, capacity, change, configuration, continuity, life cycle, problem, release and vendor) for the purpose of effective processes.
• Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for all implementations and changes on the network.
• In-depth analysis of MPPL nationwide infrastructure, its capacity planning and technology
evaluations for future expansions.
• Work closely with vendors for the purpose of Research and Development for new equipment.
• Procurement and equipment processing for Core infrastructure and various projects.
• Technical Proposals and Solution Design for new Projects and Tenders.
• Identify, diagnose, and resolve network problems pertaining to Core, Aggregation and Access
Network and in Multinet Server Farm.
• Support all aspects of core infra including layer 2 switching, FTTx (Metro Ethernet/GEPON), L2 & L3 MPLS networks, IP routing such as BGP, OSPF & ISIS architectures.
• Testing, Installation, Configuration and maintenance of IP Transit/Internet services for customer on Core and Access layer using Juniper MX480, M10i, M7i, J4350 and Cisco 7600 & ASR platforms
• Perform lead role in expansions, revamp and swap activities related to IP-Core network.
• Resource management and responsibility delegations to team members for execution of core
projects.
Projects completed
• IPVPN/Ethernet NNI between Multinet and Different Carriers - Testing and Implementation of NNI Interconnect with Dialog over IPLC via SMW4. This IPVPN NNI interconnect between Multinet and Dialog was configured according to RFC4364 inter-AS option 10 A.
NNI Planning, testing and implementation with TATA Communications, PCCW and other various
local operators for extension of EVPL service.
• IPv6 Peering and Content Delivery - IPv6 Transit, Upstream peering, dual-stack configurations on core, and Content delivery to end user by configuring SLAAC, DNSv6, and caching servers.
• MPPL Private IP Cloud - Resource planning and deployment of IP Private Cloud; built on VMware
vShpere Hypervisors 5.1 and its readiness for PaaS and IaaS offerings.
Migration of existing Internet (DNS, SMTP, POP) and Internal Services (NMS Tools, Graphing Tools,
Access and Authentication Servers, Real Time Monitoring and Reporting Tools) to IP Cloud.
• Other projects include DSL Network Optimization, MPLS Elements restructuring, IP Transit Revamp,
Metro Network Enhancements, QoS Implementation, and JUNOS automations.

Responsibilities • Administer day-to-day operation of Metro-Ethernet Networks.
• Provide 2nd level of support to internal/external customers.
• Manage and Maintain the Nationwide IP network comprised of Multinet vendor (Cisco, Juniper and
Raisecom) core, access and aggregation devices.
• Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for all implemented network.
• Monitor network traffic and make capacity planning recommendation with the help of monitoring
tools such as Solarwinds NPM, Traffic Graphing utilities STG, MRTG and Cacti.
• Troubleshoot the problems occurred in L2 and L3 circuits related to, Spanning Tree, Vlan, Ether- channel, Inter-Vlan routing, Static and Dynamic Routing, X-Connect, VRF, and VPN.
