•Serves as the project’s representative to training institutions in the assigned hub region
•Leads training needs assessments in the assigned hub region at start-up and as needed throughout the project.
•In partnership with selected training institution(s), identify technical assistance needs, including support for faculty, clinical mentorship, curriculum development, and distance education support to be provided by the project
•Ensures that the post-training performance needs assessments are completed within six months of training
•Supports the project’s work by collaborating with relevant government ministries, relevant regulatory bodies, other implementing partners and county representatives
•Provides technical support in designing appropriate monitoring, evaluation and supervision tools for the provision of in-service training and other project support at the regional level.
•Oversees activities to support institutional capacity building and development of e-learning labs at selected training hubs
•Supports the implementation of other project interventions that help to transform the model of health workforce training in Kenya.
•Works with the relevant division of Ministries of Health and the Capacity Kenya to provide technical oversight in setting up of community units linked to, and use of ICT at the identified demonstration sites.
•Leads work planning, Budgeting, M&E and reporting results in the region.
•Built capacity and provides ongoing technical assistance to the Program staff and district GOK teams and other Implementing Partners in the implementation of Quality Improvement (QI) and Performance Improvement (PI) approaches and tools
•Guided the Project and sub-regional GOK teams in implementation of community-driven QI approaches to strengthen links between community members and facilities and engage community groups in exploring barriers and solutions to HIV/AIDS, MCH, RH/FP, TB services
•Provided leadership for 9 members of the Quality Improvement team at the project
•Developed/adapted and guided in the implementation of appropriate Quality and performance improvement and Supportive Supervision systems and models by the project to ensure provision of integrated and accessible HIV/AIDS, TB, RH/FP services in line with national and international guidelines and systems
•Conducted and coordinated Quality and performance improvement technical trainings supported by APHIAPlus
•Ensured documentation and wide dissemination of new initiatives and application of best practices in Quality Improvement /Performance improvement by APHIAPlus Northern Arid Lands.
•Monitored and assisted in the evaluation of QI, PI and supportive supervision activities
•Organized and participated in operations research related to QI, PI and Support Supervision
•Coordinated the implementation of staff development programs, in close liaison with staff supervisors and relevant APHIAplus partner HR Managers.

•Oversaw the planning of short-term technical assistance related to quality improvement activities.
•Regularly traveled to the program’s target regions to provide supervision, monitor progress and provide follow-up technical assistance on QI, PI and Support supervision activities.

•Organized the implementation of basic primary health service delivery including health promotion & education activities on maternal and child health, Malaria, reproductive health and HIV in 3 counties in close collaboration and coordination with local authorities and community leaders
•In collaboration with the County Health Teams, supervises PHCCs and PHCUs and identified opportunities and challenges in the application of the MOH Primary Health Care Centers /Units policies and guidelines
•Conducted training needs assessments and organized training activities accordingly jointly with the County Health Departments
•Supported the County Health Departments in the collection, processing, analysis and reporting of routine health information (Health Management Information System) by rendering technical assistance to the relevant officers and stakeholders, including during organized supervision visits
•Provided support to the CHD in the analysis of Health Management Information Systems (HMIS) data linked to drug consumption data, morbidity, mortality, and supervision findings
•Provided support in establishing and maintaining a standard supply chain management system at the County Health Department and health facilities

•Provided on-going mentorship and supervision of Provider-initiated HIV Testing and Counseling to the health care workers at the selected facilities.
•Strengthened linkages between HIV Testing and Counseling points and the HIV clinics (CCC) for appropriate referral of patients, at selected facilities.
•Oversaw the planning and implementation of HIV counseling and testing for families of people attending HIV clinics (Family HTC) at selected ICAP supported facilities.
•Provided training and mentorship to healthcare workers to strengthen the implementation of PITC and Family HTC activities in the facilities.
•Strengthened documentation and reporting of HIV counseling and testing activities at facility level for program evaluation and planning
•Monitored child development center activities to ensure compliance with ministry of health policies
•Ensured that Compassion international’s and partner expectations on physical, spiritual and cognitive development needs of children were met
•Advised local partnership committee and child development workers on opportunities related to networking, resources and services to enhance appropriate health interventions
