Current Role and Contributions as a Mathematics Teacher

In my current role as a Mathematics teacher, I am responsible for delivering high-quality instruction across various curricula, including the IB Middle Years Programme (MYP) and the Diploma Programme (DP).

My primary focus is on fostering conceptual understanding, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills among students. I employ differentiated teaching strategies and integrate technology to ensure an engaging and inclusive learning environment for diverse learners.

Key Responsibilities:
Curriculum Design and Implementation:
Develop comprehensive lesson plans aligned with IB standards, emphasizing inquiry-based learning and interdisciplinary connections.

Technology Integration: Leverage digital tools such as graphing software, interactive simulations, and learning management systems (e.g., ManageBac) to enhance teaching and learning.

Assessment and Feedback:
Design formative and summative assessments based on IB criteria, provide detailed feedback, and analyze performance data to inform instructional planning.
Student Support: Offer individualized guidance to students, including support for Internal Assessments (IA) and Extended Essays (EE) in the DP, and ensure they meet their academic potential.

Key Contributions:
Improved Academic Outcomes: Consistently facilitated student progress, with a significant number achieving high scores in IB examinations.

Professional Development: Conducted workshops for colleagues on integrating effective questioning techniques and data analysis in teaching.

Innovation in Teaching: Introduced project-based learning initiatives, such as interdisciplinary units combining Mathematics and Digital Design, which have enhanced students' real-world problem-solving skills.

Mentorship and Guidance: Supported students in selecting and refining IA topics, leading to creative and high-quality submissions.
