Project: Feasibility Study and Detailed Design of Flood Protection Dams in 1) Liwa & Shinas Areas - North Batinah Region (9 dams) and 2) Wadi Al Ais, Jahawir and Sarami in Batinah Region (7 dams), Oman

Duties: Responsibilities includes preparation of overall project mapping of (whole Batinah Region) incorporating all existing and future planned infrastructures in order to visualize the probable dam location using Arc GIS.
Generating water delineation, flow accumulation and flow path from DEM using ArcGIS and AutoCAD. Surface modeling, contours generation and flood mapping from the detail topographic survey data using Global Mapper, Arc GIS and AutoCAD. Calculation of storage volume curve at different level for different scenario events such as 200 years return period, 500 years return period and GONU 1000 years return period for the flood protection dam site selection (16 dam sites) using Arc GIS-for analyzing/ generating volume date and MS Excel-for data interpretation. Design of dams (rockfill and/or gravity) including spillway structure and the intake for the passing out water within 2 weeks from the time of storage. Preparation of technical drawings

Duties: Responsibilities includes liaison between client, consultant and the contractor in the aspect of planning, scheduling and monitoring. Studying and analyzing the drawings in order to visualize the consecutive sequence of construction works (from different lots) to obtain a feasible construction sequence. Preparation of overall project schedule and working schedule (using the primavera project planning software) incorporating activities of various lots (lot C - civil works, lot M - mechanical works, lot HSS - hydraulic steel structure works, lot E - electrical works, lot SS - switchyard works, lot TRL - transmission line works), with the joint coordination between the contractors of all lots. Updating the schedule-on a monthly basis, analysis of the actual execution of work in due time, analysis of the delays to optimize and planning of future sequential works. Preparation of progress reports in a quarterly, monthly and weekly basis. Preparation of cash flow of different lots. Preparation and evaluation of EoT (Extension of Time) on the basis of claims and variations to the works in the project.
