- Managed the strategic partnership with Yokogawa Saudi Arabia - the Japanese
major electrical engineering and software company based in Dhahran Techno
Valley - which resulted in executing 4 collaborative research project s, leading to
signing 2 commercialization deals
− Proactively established partnership with National Energy Services Reunited Corp.
(NESR) which materialized into leasing a land in the science park and investing
in building NESR global technology development center
− Identified and established communication with Petrogistix, which lead to signing
an option agreement to license one of the university’s technologies
− Initiated and negotiated 2 technology collaboration framework agreements that
KFUPM signed with Halliburton and Baker Hughes
− Started and led the discussions to establish a tri-lateral collaboration between
KFUPM, Saline Water Conversion Corporation, and a local start-up for the
commercialization of a KFUPM technology
− Attained KFUPM Distinguished Professional Staff Award for excellence in
promoting collaboration between the University & its in dustrial partners
− Collaborated with 3 peers to establish the Industrial L iaison Office
− Created an annual performance assessment system for collaboration agreements
− Developed a system for assessment of the University research capabilities and
aligning them with the needs and challenges of the industrial partners
− Organized 46 industry engagement seminars
− Orchestrated 11 university-industry interaction forums with audiences of up to 200
executives, technologists and researchers
− Designed 5 new collaboration programs and managed 26 partnership agreements

Currently

✓ Manage and facilitate research and technology collaboration between the
University and its industrial partners. Industries covered include Energy &
Power, Industry 4.0, Water & Environment, Oil & Gas
✓ Identifying and developing new sources of funding for research and
commercialization activities
✓ Developing industry engagement road maps
✓ Mapping industrial partners’ needs with university competences
✓ Provide guidance and consultancy for entrepreneurs on e stablishing start-
ups based on the university’s technologies and connecting them with large
corporations (potential clients)
✓ Screening invention disclosures to assess commercialization readiness,
market overview and licensing potential
✓ Identifying potential licensees or sponsors for new research results and
early-stage technologies
✓ Working directly with and providing support for senior management of
existing and potential partners, and KFUPM faculty/researchers
✓ Organizing on-campus engagement platforms to showcase how the university
could work with the potential partner(s)
✓ Identifying and participating in local and international industry trade shows
and following up leads arising from such events
✓ Producing and publishing marketing materials in both English and Arabic
languages to promote the university’s research and innovation capabilities
✓ Benchmarking with global best practices
