Sr. Adviser reservoir engineering Management at Waha Oil Company
  • United Arab Emirates - Abu Dhabi
  • My current job since January 2020

Waha Oil Company, Tripoli-Libya.

I gave my guidance to the Management regarding the incentive & motivation to some individual staff.

I convinced the Management to increase the annual Budget for the reservoir development purpose to develop the undeveloped area and produce the reserves in timely manner.

I emphasized to develop the area of the single well reservoirs where the Exploration Department have no more activity in Exploration.

I clarified to the Management the necessity to continue the reservoir simulation study programs to update the OOIP and the reserves and have a clear picture on the remained oil which to be targeted by the infill drilling program to produce the remained reserves.

I urged the management to review the reserves classification and to consider the reservoir in those area where the wells drilled and tested oil but undeveloped yet to be classified under the proven undeveloped reserves, raise budget and start the reservoir development.

Manager, Planning Department at Waha Oil Company
  • Great Britain (UK)
  • January 2015 to January 2017

During this period of my management, I put a plan to develop all the undeveloped reservoirs, specially the single well reservoirs to tie-in them to the operated stations to increase the company's oil production. Four reservoirs were targeted for development by infill drilling. 30 wells were drilled, completed, tied-in and put on line their daily production rate is 32, 000 BOPD.

I have directed the Department staff to resolve the problems of the long time shut-in wells and work over all the shut-in wells. 150 wells were shut-in for different reasons, the staff reviewed, evaluated 50 wells and diagnosed their problems, worked over them, the results is gain of 35, 000 BOPD.
.
I put a plan for the new employees to attend a training program in different subjects to enable them to implement the daily work programs as it was planned by the company.

Conducted 3 reservoir simulation studies as part of our 5 year plan budget the results showed that these reservoirs still represents high reserves, a plan was put infill drilling program to \[produce the remained reserves. Conducted several PVT analysis, RCAL, SCAL, and annual pressure survey.

initiated growth plan to increase the company's oil rate by infill drilling, well's work over and pump optimization, the plan under the implementation.

Senior Supervisor
  • January 2007 to January 2015

Concession 59E Section, Reservoir Division Planning, Department, Waha Oil Company, Tripoli-Libya

Strong Working knowledge, prepared the SORs for the 5 year plan budget to implement infill drilling programs, collect cores for the SCAL, RCAL and PVT analysis.
Budget include, drilling cost, completion cost, tie in and electrification cost), reservoir simulation studies, Laboratory studies, production logging and work over. Presented the required budget to the Management committee and got their approval.

Supervised the drilling of 50 horizontal wells in different reservoirs of the company, planed them, locate their, surface, Heel and Toe and placed the trajectory in the permeable, porous and high oil saturation layers, which resulted in an increase in the company's oil production potential by 75, 000 BOPD.

Developed Gialo Paleocene reservoir, drilled 14 vertical and horizontal wells, which resulted in an increase in the oil rate by 21, 000BOPD. The drilling results were used to update the reservoir simulation study, updating the OOIP and reserves, which resulted in an increase of the reservoir reserve by 70MMSTBO.

Developed North Waha 5J-area Reservoir by drilling of 9 vertical producer, which added to the company potential 18, 000 BOPD.

Developed South East Harash Field, drilled 7 horizontal wells in tight reservoir which increased the well productivity to 1500BOPD and added to the company's potential 10, 500BOPD.

Put a plan for developing DPL6 reservoir, the first horizontal well in this tight reservoir produced 1800BOPD. The infill drilling program was continued to develop the reservoir.

Senior Reservoir Engineer at Society of Petroleum Engineering
  • January 1997 to January 2007

Waha Oil Company, Tripoli-Libya.

Re-developed Bahi PL7 reservoir, drilled 15 Horizontal wells placed their trajectory on the top 5ft of the reservoir which enabled producing clean oil rate of 1500 BOPD/well, 0% water cut. Rebuilt the Geological model and the simulation Model, updated the OOIP and Reserves which resulted in an increase in the reserves by 90MMSTBO.

Conducted an EOR screening for Bahi PL-7 Field and Gialo Paleocene Field. Prepared the scope of work for the EOR Laboratory work, followed up the EOR laboratory reports, reviewed and evaluated the results of the SLIMTUBE tests, MMC, MMP determination for the Hydrocarbon solvent and CO2 solvent. Optimized the slug size, WAG ratio, WAG Cycle. Initiated the EOR pilot scope and budget to use Hydrocarbon solvent in Bahi PL-7 Field and the CO2 solvent in the Gialo Paleocen Field in the coming five year plan.
