Jeddah Stormwater & Masterplan (JSWM) is a project to improve the storm water systems across the city of Jeddah. The purpose of the project is to complete a further analysis of the stormwater drainage issues in Jeddah and to identify the design options which will mitigate potential flooding within the city of Jeddah. The proposed structures in the project include stormwater network related structures including channels, culverts, outfalls, tunnels, PRDs, catch basins, shafts and pump stations. My responsibilities and duties in the project are as follow:

• Preparing the geotechnical scope of works based on the design requirements of the project;
• Evaluation of the qualifications of the geotechnical investigation contractors;
• Preparing Task Orders for site investigations using the appointed Term Geotechnical Investigation Contractor;
• Ensures the Geotechnical Contractor has obtained all third-party approvals and permits prior to the commencement of the investigations;
• Planning and supervising the geotechnical investigations;
• Provides supervision and monitoring of the geotechnical contractor field activities, in-situ and laboratory testing;
• Manages the delivery of Geotechnical Interpretive Reports (GIRs), as prepared by the geotechnical contractor, including review of deliverables against the Task Order and compliance of field and laboratory test data against the Contract, prevailing Codes and Standards.
• Responsible for the review of geotechnical submissions;
• Provides geotechnical information and input for the design;
• Interpretation and verification of ground investigation data and development of geotechnical design parameters;
• Undertaking desk studies, analyzing the soil parameters and providing input for the design team;
• Production of geotechnical design reports;
• Review and approve any geotechnical design developed by third part;
• Coordinates with the Civil and structural engineering teams to ensure design recommendations in the (GIRs) are incorporated into the technical submissions.

The scope comprises design and model testing, dredging and reclamation, deep compaction of the reclaimed site, construction of the perimeter shore protection and construction of mini harbours and related infrastructure;
• Supervision of offshore geotechnical investigations and in-situ testing from Self Elevated Platform (SEP);
• Supervision and monitoring of dredging/reclamation activities including material suitability for reclamation and quality control of the reclaimed material;
• Implementation and quality control of ground improvement works using Vibro Compaction;
• Reviewing of foundation design and geotechnical testing reports;
• Supervision of land and marine survey;
• Assisted the Project Manager with overall project performance including costs, schedule and quality;
