Education

Master's degree, Master Degree-Civil Engineering
  • at University Of Portsmouth
  • September 2016

Masters Dissertation Title: Investigating the Dynamic Response of FRP-strengthened structural steel frames. The dissertation presented a numerical three-dimensional dynamic analysis which was performed on a sixty-meter span truss frame using the finite element analysis software LUSAS 14.7 to study the and compare the behaviour of the truss frame after being reinforced with traditional steel plates, and its behaviour when being reinforced with FRP plates. This strategy of retrofitting steel truss frames with FRP material was proved to be a viable one which can significantly reduce displacements. Its robust performance and simplicity make FRP an ideal retrofit option.
