As a School Nurse:
1. Provides nursing care to students; assessed and implemented first aid measures for students for the purpose of providing appropriate care for ill, medically fragile and/or injured student.
2. Counsels with students concerning problems such as safe-sex education, pregnancy, sexually transmitted diseases and substance abuse in order to facilitate responsible decision-making practices.
3. Prepares and maintains student clinic records and prepared required reports.
4. Completes the preliminary nursing assessments and assisted the physician with the child study physical examinations for students.
5. Provides health education and anticipatory counseling.
Maintained security of school health supplies.
6.Acts as a liaison between the school, home and other community agencies.
As a Health Teacher (Grade 9-10 students) :
1. Responsible for lesson plans, assigning homework, giving tests and grading students on their progress.
2. Handle topics such as sexual health or eating disorders in a straightforward, nonjudgmental manner that promotes understanding.
3. Responsible in teaching healthy life practices. The subjects taught range from nutrition, sex education, and physical education to substance abuse prevention.
4. Undertaking pastoral duties, such as taking on the role of form tutor, and supporting pupils on an individual basis through academic or personal difficulties.
5. Selecting and using a range of different learning resources and equipment, including interactive whiteboard.
6. Researching new topic areas, maintaining up-to-date subject knowledge, and devising and writing new curriculum materials.
7. Preparing pupils for qualifications and external examinations.
1. Weigh patients and take their blood pressure and other vital signs; take patient medical history.
2. Prepare and drape patients in the examination room.
3. Perform simple lab tests.
4. Administer medications and injections as prescribed by the primary care provider.
5. Assist the primary care provider with procedures by preparing appropriate instruments and sterile field.
6. Provide patient instruction and educational materials as needed.
7. Ensure complete and proper documentation of all patient care and instruction in patient medical
records.
1. Helps in making health care service more accessible especially to poor in the remote areas of Sta. Fe, Nueva viscaya, Philippines.
2. Promotes and motivates change in the community in their health practices and lifestyle behaviours.
3. Inculcates self- reliance to brought about development and improvement in the community.
4. Acts as a coordinator to other healthcare team.
5. Identifies the needs and concerns of individuals, groups, families, and the community
6. Formulates health plans, interprets and implements nursing plans, especially in the absence of a community physician
7. Assists other health team members in implementing health programs in the setting.
8. Renders direct care to various clients with different needs, may it be at home, in school, clinics or work settings
9. Involves the family in the care of the sick or dependent individual.
10. Promotes self- reliance of community and emphasizes their involvement and participation in planning, organizing, implementing and evaluating of health services
11. Initiates and implements community development activities.
12. Monitors and detects presence of health concerns in the community through contacts or home visits.
13. Utilizes various effective data gathering techniques in keeping an eye on the health status of all recipients of care.
14. Records and reports health status and presence of health problems in the community.
15. Conducts researches concerning the health of the community.
16. Coordinates with government and non- government organizations in the conduct and implementation of studies
