Alba ranks among the largest, safest and most environmentally friendly aluminium smelters in the world.
As Head of Protocol and Corporate Events I am directly responsible for all Alba's local and international Protocol issues as well as all its events including plant wide, national and international events. I am also responsible for developing, managing and implementing the Public Relations Budget, monitoring spending throughout the year and adjusting budget issues accordingly as well as managing the department's human resource and all its purchasing issues.
In terms of Protocol, my primary responsibility is to ensure that the stringent, often sensitive rules of protocol are followed when we receive visiting delegations - including heads of state, ministers, ambassadors, and visiting dignitaries - at the plant and when members of the Alba Board of Directors or the Executive Management Team interact with senior government officials and industrial leaders both within Bahrain and abroad.
I am also responsible for identifying, developing and nurturing key relationships with local and international government organizations and their representatives.
In terms of Corporate Events, my primary responsibility is to manage and host Alba's exceptionally wide range of events which includes everything from small Team Seminars to Employee Carnivals for more than 10, 000 people and from Board Meetings to international conferences with senior industrial executives flying in from around the world.
I am also responsible for supporting all media and media related affairs as well as branding, CSR programmes, advertising, translations, artwork and publications.

Bahrain-Saudi Aluminium Marketing Company (BALCO) was the marketing arm of Aluminium Bahrain (Alba) and, before it was merged into Alba, was responsible for marketing all its metal production on behalf of the shareholders.

As Head of Marketing Research, my responsibilities included providing information to the Executive Management Team on the latest developments in the international aluminium markets and preparing detailed reports and presentations.

I was also directly responsible for all BALCO's public relations activities including all their events, publications, advertising, printing and media relations. My responsibilities included working with international media operations to place strategic advertisements and develop efficient media buying approaches.

During my time at BALCO I also headed up the Team responsible for introducing SAP, a sophisticated enterprise-wide computer system, which facilitated the merger with Alba.

Bahrain Extrusion Company (BALEXCO), one of Bahrain's largest downstream industries, produces aluminium profiles to be used in the construction industry.

As Product and Market Development Officer, I was responsible for finding and developing new products as well as new markets. This involved intensive research - both within Bahrain and abroad - to file marketing intelligence reports that identify potential markets. I was also responsible for planning, organizing and hosting a wide range of exhibitions, conferences and seminars.

Selected by the Ministry of Development and Industry as part of the "Task Force" Team.

The Team consisted of individuals selected from Bahrain's largest organisation and appointed to work with the Irish Development Board and the Bahrain Ministry of Development and Industry to identify new medium and small scale industrial opportunities suitable for Bahrain. This was a full time position that involved studying the Irish experience in this field and then visiting all Bahrain's medium and small scale operations to advise them on how they could expand or otherwise develop their industries. I was also responsible for providing them assistance with their feasibility studies.
