Colleges of Excellence

I am currently developing the curriculum and teaching a half-load; I have written with one other teacher (as part of the Curriculum Working Group) the schemes of work for Absolute
Beginners, Elementary, KET Prep 1 and KET Prep 2, as well as the PET scheme of work. I was
Instrumental in identifying and procuring a wealth of didactic literature to stock the college, and have given various CPDS on the Syllabus and methodology. I am one of the three Task
Team members who meet other colleges to interrogate issues and provide solutions.
I am a Lead Teacher, being one of two (out of a compliment of twenty-two teachers) to be
selected for special management training, in addition to teacher training, offered universally
by the British Council in collaboration with the Colleges of Excellence.
I specialize in writing schemes of work and syllabi to address the specific problems of Arab
Learners, in particular, orthographic differences between our alphabets and ways of
assimilating vocabulary in the absence of cognates or similar words in both our languages.
