Janaka Vitharanage

As an Technician, I am responsible for providing technical support to the users of the
organization and the Guests. This includes diagnosing and resolving hardware and
software issues, setting up and configuring Computer Systems, Networks, Printers, Routers
and other peripherals including Server systems. Additionally, I ensure the security and
integrity of data by implementing and maintaining backup solutions and antivirus
software. My role also involves conducting regular maintenance and updates to ensure the
smooth operation of IT infrastructure.

As an IT Coordinator in the hospitality trade played a critical role in ensuring the smooth
operation of information technology systems across the restaurants, and other service
driven businesses. The primary responsibilities of an IT Coordinator include managing and
maintaining hardware and software systems, ensuring the network infrastructure is stable
and secure, and troubleshooting any issues that arise in daily operations. In a hospitality
setting, maintaining hotel point-of-sale (POS) terminals in restaurants, guest Wi-Fi
networks, digital key systems and backend offices IT support.

I held
the primary responsibility for overseeing the security and fire alarm systems across all
branches and ATMs within the banks network in Sri Lanka. This involved ensuring the
optimal functioning and maintenance of these systems to uphold the safety and security
standards of the bank. Additionally, I served as the in-charge of the Central Monitoring
Station at HSBC, where I supervised operations and coordinated activities to ensure
seamless security monitoring.
