Monitoring all structural engineering aspects of the project to ensure compliance with project specifications, Qatar Construction Specifications and industry norms and best practice. Liaising with the Senior Structural Engineer and other Engineers and Managers to provide support and guidance as required on temporary and permanent works. Review and monitor variations to the work to mitigate time and cost impacts for any required changes. Monitor the review of Contractor’s technical documentation to flag and rectify any issues which may affect the stability or function of any structural components or systems. Comply with the project related protocol set up for inspection of works and materials. Adopt a proactive approach to site safety at all times by monitoring and reporting potential un-safe work activities. Compile reports on the progress of the structural aspects of the project. Capable of providing innovative means and methods to improve efficiency of existing site methodologies and practices. Advanced knowledge and experience with key construction materials i.e. concrete, structural steel, reinforcement, brickwork etc. Maintain tracking registers of all submittals and testing, both on site and off site. Maintain full site records, including daily site diaries in an approved format, and formal monthly progress photo reports. Expedition of document approvals if it appears to be stalling or delaying the project. Communicate clearly with Contractor and fellow colleagues. Review and certify daily records of the performed works as well as labor and equipment returns, material deliveries, tests performed and safety problems for supplier(s) and contractor(s) engaged on the Project. Carry out regular inspections of the construction materials delivered to site and take all reasonable measures necessary to ensure compliance by the Contractors with the Project requirements including but not limited to: drawings, specifications and Contract Documents, best engineering practice, any agreed samples or mock-ups, and/or local authority requirements or the relevant codes or standards. Following the receipt of the Contractor/supplier’s notices of work being ready for inspection or of tests to be carried out, attend as soon as possible but not later than hours from receipt of the Contractor/supplier’s notices attend as soon as possible but not later than hours from receipt of the Contractor/supplier’s notices. Identify and report unacceptable work by supplier(s) and Contractor(s) as early as possible. Maintain comprehensive inspection records including all original signed off inspection requests, testing reports, items inspected, date and location, tests etc. performed and the outcome particularly if the item was rejected in which case the reasons for rejection and the action to be taken should be recorded. Compile defect lists and verify that defects are rectified, carrying out further inspection as necessary to ensure that the work is completed and rectified in accordance with the Contract Documents, providing updates in the weekly construction and or QA/QC meetings. Monitoring the Contractor(s) activities, ensuring that they are in compliance with statutory safety requirements, SC safety requirements, guidelines and policies of the relevant local authorities and industry best practice. This shall include establishing a reporting program, collecting regular reports from the Contractors, and storing/filing those records and reports. Monitor and/or verification to ensure the alignment, location, grade, level and plumb work of all elements both vertically and horizontally as per the Contract Documents. Performs a variety of related work such as request for inspections of work from the contractors, initiating reports, correspondence and cables relative to assigned projects, assembling performance data and conducting studies relative to the development, procurement or adaptation of equipment; interpreting the meaning and application of codes and standards, reviewing operating procedures and safety instructions; acting as a technical consultant on operating problems. Develops continuous improvement solutions and formulates the design basis by collecting, analyzing information and data relative to operating requirements, process, economic considerations, and such other pertinent factors as may be involved as a preliminary step in support of proposals for new construction, modifications, or maintenance to equipment. Follows and inspects the construction progress of assigned projects assuring conformance with design specifications, codes and standards; Recommends or confirms design changes, material and equipment substitutes; and assures that costs do not exceed appropriated funds by anticipating overruns and justifying supplementary appropriation requests. Leads the development of engineering specification and develops material and equipment specifications and resolves related engineering problems in rendering the design by applying accepted engineering principles, codes and standards; making the necessary diagrams and calculations; and considering the economic factors involved. Performing other duties and responsibilities as required from time to time by the manager or by the Company.
Prepare, develop, review and implement a project Quality Plan and Quality procedure. Conduct regular interfaces with management to plan proactively and implement quality improvement measures. Provide training and education of all colleagues to meet established quality objectives. Ensure by checking, verification, inspection or audit, as appropriate to the activity, that the specified level of conformance and all quality related aspects are achieves as per company Quality plan and project requirements; also ensure that the random checking are conducted on a regular basis. Evaluate trends and report the status of the implementation to assess the effectiveness of the quality system to the project manager / Team Leader. Review the organizational relationship with regards to the quality and recommend improvements. Monitor and maintain quality related statistics and prepare for the approval the relevant weekly / Monthly reports. Identify and documents quality related problems (NCR, Field Memo and etc.) and recommend solution for quality improvement. Monitor the inspection of completed works. Help prepare punch list. Monitor the start-up. Testing, commissioning and handover of the works. Implement Initial inspection phase as per Quality Plan.
Handle responsibilities of monitoring and surveying the tasks of field construction staff and gather reports on project status. Perform the tasks of providing technical advice like use and installation of construction equipment to solve construction issues. Responsible for the review of shop drawings as well as prepare contractor payment records. Perform the task of improving the efficiency of the project by providing necessary recommendations in various stages of implementation. Responsible for handling the planning of the project by following standard methods, techniques, and procedures. Perform the task of preparing project cost estimates and update the same to the project manager. Handle responsibilities of preparing construction documents and calculations. Responsible for developing initial construction plans and specifications as per project requirements.
Review, study and familiarize with the bid documents, prepare clarifications for discussion in the pre-bid meeting with client/customer. Check and review all data, scope of work, extent of supply, site services, conformity and unit of bid documents and specifications. Supervise the construction of civil work such as foundations and responsible for the surveying for the proper alignment and elevation. Familiarize the contract specifications and procedures. Responsible of the daily inspection for the approval of representative client. Duties include quantity take-off, formulation of labor, materials and equipment.

Maintained contact with civil engineering and airport industry to ensure an up to date knowledge of materials and techniques. Carried out pavement and building condition inspections and reporting. Conduct systematic survey and mapping of roads. Maintain the security and safety of all covered and restricted area. Inspects construction site to monitor progress and ensure conformance to engineering plans, specifications and construction safety standards.
