• Analyzing Tenders, designing and configuring the appropriate solutions for Banks, Telecom operators, Oil & Gas Firms, Public sector & Ministries in Africa; including all HP products, Microsoft, VMware, RedHat and Symantec.
• New 3G UMTS Sites Optimization & Acceptance to the customer Alfa:
• Optimization and Analysis of new sites in both U2100 and U900 carriers
• Achieving & Maintaining Network KPIs agreed with Customer
• Generating Scrambling Codes and parameters for new sites
• Daily monitoring and analysis of site Performance and Troubleshooting according to the problems existing in the network. Recommending Parameter changes to increase coverage and reduce interference and improving KPIs.
• Set up cell classifications and define possible neighbors based on priority within same carrier (Intra-Frequency), two different carriers (Inter-frequency), or to GSM sites (IRAT) for success handovers achieving best possible coverage
• Performing analysis of various Network reports & Parameters from OMC (using OSS CITRIX Ericsson tools and Business Object) to evaluate the network KPIs such as RRC connection success rate, HSDPA/HSUPA throughput, and SHO/IRAT success rate; and providing remedy for High Drop rate, Speech drop, CS drop, PS drop, HS drop, UL RSSI, Blocking, denied admission and reducing overshooting antennas.
• Analyzing Drive Tests data (using ACTIX) to evaluate network coverage, Quality Problems and Handover Optimization generating various reports like Active Set, RSCP, Ec/Io, TxPower, BLER, HSDPA etc.
• Coordinate with Drive Test and riggers teams, Checking Feeder and Sector Swap, and suggesting changes in Antenna orientations and mechanical or electrical Tilts.
• Collecting radio measurements of 2G GSM and 3G UMTS Networks belonging to Alfa.
• Preparing drive test routes (using MapInfo and Google Earth) within the coverage area based on the design plots
• Processing drive test data output files (voice and data calls) collected using TEMS Investigation.
• Identifying and finding areas of interference, dropped calls and poor coverage.
• Handover testing and trouble shooting, Downlink and Uplink throughput testing.
• Checking the existence of major problems such as swapped antenna feeders, site not transmitting, bad RF coverage, Pilot Pollution, and interference
• Performing a series of test at the direction of the Optimization Engineers, coordinating with them and suggesting antennas tilt changes and relayed the impact of the change to engineers in the office; to assure that we were receiving best possible coverage with a maximum throughput.
