1. Receives patients for Out-Patient Consultation.
2. Assists doctor during procedures (IUD insertion/removal, vaginal rejuvenation, colposcopy).

The public health nurse is mainly responsible for the implementation of the health
programs issued by the Department of Health. This is with particular attention to
the programs related in the achievement of the following Millennium Development
Goals by the WHO: to eradicate child mortality, to improve maternal health, and
to combat HIV/AIDS, malaria and other communicable diseases.
* Co-managed 5 barangays with a total population of roughly eight thousand
over a 3-yer period.
* Provided nursing care, health education and disease control services to each of
the barangays and in the main rural health unit on a weekly scheduled basis.
* Mapped out family care plans to families in the community with diagnosed
healthcare needs.
* Implemented the Expanded Program on Immunization to target population.
* Provided prenatal and postpartum care to target population in the community.
* Handled initial trainings and orientation for new barangay health workers and
refresher lectures for existing BHWs.
* Conducted pre-marital seminar about Responsible Parenthood and Family
Planning on a biweekly basis.
* Assisted the municipal health physician in out-patient procedures.
* Orchestrated several community events and lectures focused on family planning,
tuberculosis, nutrition and maternal health over aa 3-year period.
* Conferred with the chief PHN and MHO strategies to solve existing issues in the
RHU concerning efficient healthcare delivery.
