As Warehouse / D.C. Manager, my job involves direct communications with support teams while assisting Stores. Managing the Warehouse / Distribution Centre by developing the staff, planning for stock takes and controlling operational cost & warehouse space management. Reporting to Sr. Distribution Operations Manager and responsible for managing a team of more than 250 staff members, through a team of 13 WH Supervisors. Actively involved in the recruitment of high caliber team members & driving development of the team by encouraging the use of company resources, trainings & self-development. Accountable for the annual Distribution Centre staffing and operational budget and successfully operate within its protocols. Increased D.C. productivity by 20% in the prior financial year through maximizing all the direct activities within the Distribution Centre, motivating and building the team, regular review of SWOT and encouraging ownership and accountability within the division. Successfully reduced the overall shrinkage in the Warehouse by 15% from previous financial year by effectively planning the stock take, controlling the movements of stock and consistent review of stock transfer reconciliation including UPH & CPU. Plan and monitor departmental operating capital, direct/indirect labor and overall department budget.
• Responsible for planning, developing and implementing systems, policies and procedures for controlling the warehousing operations of the company.
Reporting to the Plant Manager while managing a team of 60, rising to 80 seasonally, through 3 Supervisors and 3 key personnel. Successfully made the Inventory Control Systems computerized. Improved the FIFO storage and distribution system of finished goods. Effectively increased by 15% the transfer of full goods products to 7 Satellite Warehouses and successfully managed the reductions of rejects from handling. Improved the Logistics communications among the truck drivers when transferring stock from one department to another. Involved on the trip schedules and safety of all the staffs and the periodic review on maintenance of all delivery vehicles and the Warehouse
Improved the sourcing of stock e reduced the sub-contracting works from local suppliers at the least cost possible. Resolved all the pending insurance claims incurred from the arrival of shipments and implemented preventive measures. Re-structured the Warehouse and effectively improved its operations and working environment. Directly reporting to the Vice President of the company.
Involved in establishing new Warehouse from inception, set-up of Warehouse operations, process flow, systems and administration. Effectively introduced the computerized system of processing stock.
Successfully improved the operations of Procurement Dept according to the size and needs of the business and effectively handled the progress of the same by taking into account the cash flow standing of the company. Put-up Shipping Dept in place and established good network relation with other departments. Handled directly the sourcing, negotiation, ordering of Class "A" materials and the timely payments of invoices and reporting to the Manufacturing Manager.
