Consilium is based at Sweden and deals with Reasearch, Development, and Production of Naval and Industrial grade electronics.
The Middle East Operations is spread over the GCC countries ( 3 Branch ) and India with Mumbai as its base with 2 Branches concentrating at Cochin and Vizag.
As IT Manager, we are here with a team of four assures the 200 strong employees with messaging, VPN and file and print, backup, ftp services along with databases to drive the Web based MIS software which is in the process of development / Implementation.
The heart of the system is virtualized on Citrix Xen Server on IBM X - Series Servers 4 numbers, All major Server class OS are hosted using Xen including Messaging Exchange 2007. A San Switch is integrated along with a SAN box to take care of Data/Message archiving with Enterprise Vault, Data is backed up from various servers on to a IBM Tape drive which backups data on a DDS LTO Ultrium 4 magazine using IBM TS 3100 tape drive. Everyday backup is relocated to a safe storage to a office located in Dubai, The backups are carried out using Symantec BackupExec 2010.
The Clients use Outlook 2010with RPC over Http with VeriSign’s certificate. All Incoming is messages is scanned for Spam using Postini as SAAS, thereby ensuring a spam free environment, The Clients are all on TrendMicro Enterprise Version, The Updates are carried out by WSUS, which intern helps each client to be updated after testing . All the branches are tied to within a VPN with WatchGuard as the VPN concentrator. Services within and between Sweden is monitored.
Server health check is carried out with Solar winds software and necessary steps taken.
Design Networks and Implement the same for the Mouchel Clientele
Also takes care of BOT Networks for clientele and maintain them at Offsite bases until the project is completed.
Evolve technical Solutions for prominent project in Dubai, Which involved project design to Implementation. of Data Center for Various Projects managed by Mouchel. The scope of work was to have data centers built and monitored until the project is completed.
Mideast Ship Management, Operation/Cost center for NSCSA had responsibility of taking care of 10 Servers which takes care of Buisness for the organization including Exchange 2003 through which OWA is implemented, whereby emails can be accessed anywhere in the world and has VOIP servers for Voice communication from Cisco implemented through our corporate office and with clients to enable cost effectiveness on International calls while they are traveling abroad. VPN, s are implemented to enable secure communication across the corporate data and voice.
Manage a team of four, where I am responsible for installation, maintenance and upgrading for our existing network.
As a Systems Admin/Engineer I am responsible for the network's smooth performance, monitor the Volume of data storage on the raids, set security privileges for users on Win3K servers, check for traffic on the Internet as we have dedicated for our data transfer through links etc. I was responsible in seeing the systems work with less down time and see that the vendor support is up to the contract specifications as we are dealing in time specific contracts with our clients abroad. Also testing of New technology for forth coming projects which works on CITRIX, Migration of Mail servers to Exchange 2007, SQL 2005, for better functionalities and performance of their MIS Systems.
We also have networks on our 42 Vessels which is at sea with Win2K and SQL 2000 servers running and replicating data into the shore based servers for their plan maintenances and other communications
Charge of managing a network with Routers, switches, Pix firewall, Leased lines and two Novell servers with raid level 5, 2 WIN2K servers, 1 ISA Server with 300 workstations.
