Provide leadership and guidance to team members for timely roll out of new projects and sub systems inline with the organizational vision and mission; and also responsible for overall direction, coordination, planning, and execution and controlling of the project according to Dubai Customs project management methodology.
• Successfully implemented ISMS project within the project budget and time and got certified against ISO 27001 standards (Project selected for Dubai Government Excellence Program Awards). The scope of the project was across the organization not just IT. Received top management recognition.
• Managed teams of various sizes and type including a team of 60 people (15 core and 45 supporting) for ISMS implementation.
• Seamlessly integrate applications and technology solutions into business process and reduce defects and rework of services delivery/solutions using Project Management methodology and industrial best practices.
• Introduced and implemented 10+ policies and 30+ procedures for process improvement and regulatory compliance as per the international standards.
• Direct and manage end to end life cycle of the project including project budgeting and controlling.
• Continuous Processes Improvement initiatives and ensuring they produce tangible benefits.
• Liaise with different project stakeholders on ongoing basis.
• Effectively plan and utilize the organizational resources and maintain the project within the approved budget.
• Manage, coach and mentor Project staff. Identify and resolve project issues on ongoing basis.
• Achieve project milestones on time and meeting agreed deliverable quality standards throughout the life cycle of the project.
• Maintain projects in compliance with Customs methodologies as assessed by PMO health checks throughout the life cycle of the project.
• Currently managing fixed Assets Management system (integration with Oracle ERP), Avaya IP Telephony.
• Effectively managed up to 7 projects at times
Liaise with team members across the Middle East for timely roll out of new projects and sub systems using project management best practices; and to ensure all operational activities are carried out within the stipulated frame-work of policies and procedures. Reporting to the Head of IT, Middle East. Responsibilities includes but not limited to:-
•Successfully setup and shifted the Bank’s datacenter with ‘Zero’ impact to the business and received the recognition form the top management.
•Ensuring minimum business impact in the event of IT services disruption or during change management procedure; ensuring the IT services are available as required and expand the delivery channels.
•Business Continuity & Disaster Recovery plans with RTO’s and RPO’s aligned to executive management
•Responding to banks IT governance requirements and provide secured control environment and control procedures including compliance with laws and regulations.
•Spearheaded and implemented systems, policies and procedures for monitoring and controlling the operations. Defined department goals and objectives and ensure communication to employees of the IT Centre Operations.
•Plan, develop and implement strategies to identify process improvements by constantly interacting with the business users on pro-active basis to minimize loss and improve control without sacrificing quality and service.
•Facilitate establishments of SLAs though Process Improvement Teams and Quality Circles to enhance IT services delivery standards
•Defining business workflows, recommending and integrating various systems according to the business and organizational strategy.
•Planning and conducting QAT/UAT for new system developed/acquired on timely manner to ensure the rollout in the Middle East, in co-ordination with each country’s IT team.
•Managing the various systems like ATM Controllers, Messaging systems (Swift Alliance & Paygate), Active Directory and related systems.
•Application analysis and designing, both database and system.
•Team lead for 3 software projects (Extended transaction system, Distributed Collision Detection system, Dynamic Questionnaire Builder)
•Technologies used - Java, C#, Oracle, MSSQL, Apache, JBoss, PHP.
•Directly involved in all communication related project implementation in the company. Provide remote and on-site support, traveling extensively to customer locations to assess system needs, device solutions and oversee project installations and configuration.
•The position involves, researching the market for new technologies and products; reviewing and co-coordinating with different companies and departments.
•Designing, planning and implementing the communications networks.
