Provide day to-day expert support in clinical and non-clinical departments of the hospital, coordination and facilitation of the committee mandate, as well as monitoring of infection prevention and control indicators including, but not limited to the following areas:
• IPC Sub-Committee’s activities according to TOR;
• Educational initiatives such as medical and nursing orientation, ongoing CMEs and CNEs, on-round education
• Develop and implement effective IPC program to ensure compliance of all national and international IPC standards including JCIA;
• Participate in the development and implementation of IPC policies and procedures.
• Make clinical rounds and facilitate ground staff on identification, management and evaluation of high risk patients, processes and visitors.
• Coordinate with clinicians, laboratory, pharmacy and other relevant stakeholders to resolve clinical issues pertinent to patient, environment, staff and visitors.
• Coordinate, and facilitate ongoing IPC educational programs for all departments and staff
• Coordinate and distribute relevant information i.e. outbreaks, prevalent IPC issues, clinical policies & procedures, minutes of meetings etc, as appropriate.
• Monitor, maintain and disseminate regular and up-to-date measures and IPC indicators as prescribed by JCIA and national standards to QPS and MEC.
• Coordinate and attend all relevant quality meetings to provide necessary and relevant clinical support.

• Updates knowledge by participating in the clinical governance meeting.
• Cascade the updated information to the nurses at the local area.
• Shares concern or worries to the Infection control officer and/ or the Infectious Disease consultant in order to get an idea and for a possible solution.
• Ensuring the practice of infection control measures by hospital staffs esp. nursing and housekeeping staff.
• Continuing education for the health care workers on infection prevention and control.
