• Reviewing Contractor documents like pWPS, ITP and Hydro/Pneumatic test packages.
• Inspection of all incoming materials of Contractor for EPC-4 and verify all the supporting documents as per vendor ITP.
• Surveillance inspection in fabrication shop & site to ensure all the construction activities are complying with codes, project specification/procedure. Raise NCR/SOM for non-compliance.
• Witnessing of welder qualification test and Procedure qualification test.
• Witnessing of mechanical tests (Bend, Tensile and Impact) in laboratory.
• Walk down inspection for line punching of GRE, UG & AG piping.
• Witnessing of leak test, Pneumatic test and Hydro test.
• Final alignment inspection of Underground lines before backfilling.
• Reviewing of Radiographic films.
• Inspection of structural steel column plumbness, bolt torque and diagonal check.
• Involved in pre commissioning activities like air blowing, water flushing, restoration, leak checking & preservation of pipe lines.
• Reporting to PMC QA/QC Manager and Coordinating with PMC for project related activities.
• Preparing daily and weekly reports and submitting to team lead.
• Incoming inspection of all raw materials and equipments and preparing reports.
• Reviewing of sub-contractor’s WPS with respect to site requirements.
• Inspection of peaking, Banding & Plumbness of tanks.
• Conducting Procedure qualification & welder qualification tests and preparing reports / Certificates / ID cards.
• Preparing inspection request (IR) for inviting the client for inspection
• Fit-up, weld visual & all stages of inspections like NDT, Hydro tests and generating the reports for the same.
• Raising NCRs to sub-contractors /suppliers, when ever they fails to follow the procedures/requirements.
• In process welding surveillance to verify compliance with specified WPS, inter pass temperature & controlling of
welding consumables etc.
• Preparing the ITPs and other inspection documents.
• Review of NDT reports and PWHT charts.
• Verification of joints fit-up, weld preparation as per WPS & engineering drawing.
• Carrying out NDT requirements on welded joints as per project specification.
• Review the calibration certificates of baking oven, holding oven, quivers and welding machines etc.
• Coordination with construction people, client & contractor.
• Preparing RFI (request for information) for the all piping related field problems.
• Piping line installation inspection with reference to isometric drawings, P& ID’s
• Witnessing of pressure testing like hydro & pneumatic testing.
• Coordinate with the Project’s Safety and Certification department and ensure that all statutory
Requirements are met.
• Test package preparation and line punching.
• Mechanical completion walk down and handing over the system to Client.
• Carry out inspection of work in progress including checking if the right procedure is followed for the welding as well as the check for the qualification of the welders and the kind of materials being used for the process.
• Supervising conditioning treatment of electrodes and issuance of welding consumables to the welding consumable stores after reviewing welding consumable certification
• Welding Inspection of shop fabricated pipe spools.
• Familiar with different types of welding processes like SMAW, GTAW, FCAW, SAW, GMAW.
• Conduct joint line check with sub-contractor Q.C Inspectors, review of test pack documents and release for pressure testing.
• Positive material identification (PMI) testing and hardness checking.
• Welder qualifications and Hydro testing.
• Line checking as per P&ID and isometric drawings and punch listing.
• Sound working knowledge of different materials like CS, SS, AS (P5, P9, P11, P22, P91 etc.).
• Familiar with NDT methods like RT, UT, DPT, MPT, VT etc.
• Preparation of job procedures, ITP and formats
• Responsible for various inspections like fit-up, weld visual, wrapping coating, DFT etc.
• Interpretation of weld defects by Radiography and decision making according to acceptance criteria.
• Monitoring and reporting welder performance throughout project duration per specification and code requirements.
• Responsible for maintaining the records like WPS, PQR and WPQ.
• Planning & scheduling the inspection activities.
• Coordination with clients & third party inspectors for smooth completion of work.
• Carrying out NDE/QC clearance of piping test packages.
• Fit up, weld visual inspection of pipe lines.
• Conduct audit in electrode consumable stores and verification of logs for consumable issuance and certificates of consumables.
• Quality surveillance of welding activities in site and reporting non conformities to Quality Manager.
• Coordinate works with QC department and Client QA/QC to ensure quality levels are achieved and acceptable to the code and specification requirements
• Welder qualification as per ASME section IX.
• Leak or hydro testing of pipelines.
• Wrapping coating and holiday testing.
• Preparing & reviewing of final closure documents for the submission.
• Inspection of fit up, weld visual & sand blasting.
• Support pre fabrication activities for the pipes in the areas of drawings, specifications, as well as the right use of valves.
• Performs inspections to ensure fabrication work confirms with client specifications and standards.
• Coordinate with the discipline engineers to ensure corrective action on the above thereby ensuring the closure of the NCR’s raised.
• Witnessing Hydro / Pneumatic testing of pipelines.
• Maintaining the quality related records.
• Witnessing holiday testing of coated pipelines.
