Supervises and directs all firefighting personnel involved in an emergency and acts as Incident commander until higher authority arrives on site.
Monitors specialist stand-by’s, hot work duties using firefighting equipment, breathing apparatus and specialist rescue equipment during plant routine maintenance and project works etc.
Supervises the testing and maintenance of a range of fire fighting vehicles.
Direct and manage the fire crew on conducting of standby duties at Halfaya airpoRuwais Refinery and providing training.
Conducting of daily, monthly, bi annual and annual inspections on all fixed and semi fixed firefighting installations and equipment, on the refinery facilities, all buildings.
Guiding and training of fire wardens on what to do in case of emergencies and ensuring they have an emergency plan in place in case of any emergency.
Manage the Common Fire Training ground facility in Providing training on basic firefighting skills, self-contained breathing apparatus usage and different extinguishers to all TAKREER employees.
Manage stock levels for firefighting media, to ensure proper planning for emergency preparedness.
Manage OPEX and CAPEX Budget, including forcast for 5 year business plan.
Plans, directs, maintains, and supervises the activities of the Fire Section efficiently and effectively.
Performs a variety of technical, administrative, and supervisory work in planning, organizing, directing and implementing fire prevention, suppression and emergency response services to prevent or minimize the loss of life and property by fire and emergency conditions.
Acts as the Principal Advisor on Fire, Rescue and HAZMAT operations. Leads the fire and rescue activities, emergency planning and business continuity planning.
Conducts fire hazard protection identification programs, review of new project design and plant modifications and ensures adequate protection measures to eliminate emergency incidents. Develops and implements procedures for protection of personnel, assets and environment at large.
Prepares a variety of reports and statistics on Fire Protection (incidents / accidents / near misses) and emergency incidents. Highlights shortcomings and recommends new techniques or programmes aimed at improving fire protection and preventing the recurrence of emergency incidents in Ruwais Refinery.
Implements effective Fire programs that include all departmental work units. Maintains an open work environment within the section
Ensures the proper inspection of work sites for integrity and availability of firefighting equipment and fixed systems. Checks the adherence by all personnel to fire protection rules and regulations.
Participates in establishing, implementing and reviewing comprehensive audit / inspection programmes for Ruwais Refinery to ensure that all Fire Protection and Fire prevention regulations and programmes are strictly complied with.
Provides engineering assistance to the Engineering Development Department in the fire safety design and specification of modifications or new equipment installations and projects.
Technically reviews bid for the supply of new fire safety and firefighting equipment. Liaises with manufacturers’ representatives as required in the installation, commissioning and post commissioning periods, to discuss and rectify any equipment deficiency.
Liaises with Inspection Section Head to arrange for and follow up on physical testing and inspection of modification and/or new installations.
Conducting Acting Health, Safety, Enviroment and Fire Department Manager duties in case of the absence of the HSEF Department Manager.
