Responsible for execution and planning of all A/G piping, pipe support, and welding operations, ensuring that construction works/subcontractor’s performance are in compliance within schedules and budget for NGL 4 activities in Utility area, while coordinating with other discipline superintendents, work supervisors to undertake work scope.
As Utilities Area Superintendent, I managed all piping construction in the main Utility areas, including Boilers, Storage Tanks and Interconnecting Pipe racks, overseeing 6 Piping Supervisors and approximately 400 sub-contractors.
I was made a 'Systems Champion' to drive a team of discipline leads to ensure that priority systems were being tested, reinstated and punch list cleared for sign over to the Client.
Reviewed test packs and focused on system completions ready for testing.
Conducted system walk-downs and generated punch lists, witnessed hydrostatic testing, system flushes and reinstatements.
Conducted daily/weekly safety walk rounds, audits and held daily safety tool box talks to the contractors to promote safe working practices.
Responsible for field construction operations within piping discipline as assigned by areas.
Determining workforce requirements and coordinating established area operational plans.
Scheduling works to be performed and reviews work accomplished by piping group.
Ensuring the most current design document is used to complete the work and that all design changes are approved prior to implementation.
Preparing reports and forecasts, including summary of construction progress, Work personnel forecasts.
Monitoring tool usage by Sub Contractor and ensures that the piping work force has the tools they require to be productive as per schedule.
Monitoring the activities of subcontractors to ensure compliance with specifications and schedules.
Implantation of corporate/project policies, procedures and instructions within assigned operations.
Coordinating activities with other disciplines or areas and clients’ resident representatives, as instructed by construction management.
Inspecting pipe work at various stages of completion and ensuring that the correct procedures were being implemented and followed as set out in the Project ITP.
Responsible for clearing Pre/Post test Punch lists. Updating of Master Isometrics after alterations or modifications, and getting as built regularised through Engineering Dept.
Perform regular walk downs, safety audits and safety awareness meetings to promote safe working practices
