As a APCS (Advanced Production Control System) operator, my role was to ensure that all the goods were accurately placed at the correct time, minimising the requirement for back stock build up ensuring a smooth flow to and from the corrugator machines. Even though unfortunately the placement was only for a 2-week period, I still managed to assist in implementing a new network (LAN) and set-up the computer systems in one of the new office buildings, constructed from an extension. Successfully completed a report which is now being used to assist the IT Manager (Bob Donking) with his research into implementing a new system for the whole factory floor after my discovery of numerous errors and repetitive malfunctions particularly with the motion sensors on the corrugator. This was a very intuitive work placement which enabled me to gain an insight into the IT industry from an industrial perspective.
