In November 2012 I joined a marketing agency called Add People as a link builder. My role consists of working as part of the SEO team performing the off-page SEO for a variety of clients in the form of link building, and helping the SEO specialists perform on-page work too. This could include optimising title tags, header tags, meta descriptions or image alt tags, as well as a few other things.
As part of my ongoing development I have been tasked with managing my own website which has taught me a lot about how to use Wordpress and Google Analytics. I'm also picking up more and more PHP and Javascript as time goes on.
In December 2011 I joined a local direct marketing company as a marketing assistant. My role consisted of performing analysis on various databases using a combination of Microsoft Excel and Access, both on behalf of ourselves and our clients.
I also produce reports and liaise with clients about a variety of things, often about an upcoming email marketing campaign. Often I would then create an email template from scratch for the client using HTML and CSS, as well as scheduling it to go and analysing the campaign reports using email marketing software.
In June 2012 I joined a web development company in Gatley called BOSSco. My role here was varied and mainly includes placing content on websites using the Drupal CMS, before inputting keyword optimised meta descriptions for each page. I also spent a portion of my time editing HTML and CSS code in Dreamweaver.
By the end of my degree I had learnt how to combine data in Microsoft Excel to create a variety of mathematical simulations and models.
