• Accountability for the Business and Process IT infrastructure on site through the management of local Engineering Team with support of Global Teams and associated resources. This includes resource and financial management of all aspects of infrastructure and team resources.
• Responsible for the implementation of global standards at site level. Represent Voice of the Customer to Global management to reflect on the ground business needs.

Projects delivered are as follows:


• XP to XP (Migration of Legacy Schering Plough XP to Merck XP and Domains
o Migration of 700+ users from legacy desktops, laptops and servers to Merck environments.

• LAN/WAN Upgrade
o Project to upgrade Site WAN connectivity and all Layer 2 Network switches across site.

• Phone System
o Project to implement procedures for adds, moves and changes for all end user telephony and network devices - Meridian and Cisco VoIP telephones, Desktops, Laptops, Printers, Laboratory and Validated Production Systems.

• WiFi Upgrade
o Project to upgrade local AP’s (Access Points) and migrate from Global instance of WIFI to local instance.

• NGCC (Next Generation Client Computing) Windows 7 migration project.
o Site wide project affecting multiple business units with a user base of 500+ migrating from XP to Windows 7.

• MPP (Managed Print Program) rollout of HP printers across site.
o Site wide project to remove legacy print system and replace with a managed print program. Financial management (resource and equipment vendors).

• MySC (My Support Centre) Country wide project to implement the Global Helpdesk within Ireland.
o Countrywide project to remove legacy internal IT helpdesks and integrate the Sites with the global support centre.

• DCiaR (Data Centre in a Rack) consolidation and migration of legacy servers.
o Project to retire and/or migrate legacy server systems to a consolidated rack mounted server system.

• ESX and Data Domain Server - migration of Virtual Server Environment
o Project to retire and/or migrate legacy virtual server systems and data domain to the Local ESX Server and Global Storage environment.

• TSM (Tivoli Storage Manager) - Migration of legacy backup infrastructures to the Global Storage Systems
o Project to retire legacy backup systems and integrate with the global storage environments.

• Jetmobile / Secure Jet Printing - Implement country wide (swipe card) badge printing
o Project spanning five sites to procure and implement swipe card readers for all networked printers.

Provided 24/7, 365 systems support.
Maintained and upgraded the internal computer systems and booking software. Ensuring that all systems (a mixture of Windows 2000 and XP) were available at all times.

CBMS accountants. Planned and implemented the office relocation to a green field site The relocation also included the migration of a 16 seat Windows for Workgroups environment to Windows Small Business Server 2003 and Exchange in 2006. Offices were moved again in 2010.
