Summary of Duties: Report to and assists the Project Safety Supervisor in the
Overall implementation of approved Project Safety & Loss Prevention Program, with a primary function of performing continuous monitoring at work site to ensure continuing conformance of field workforce with all relevant safety, health and security requirements, programs and other existing pertinent policies.
Duties and Responsibilities:
❖ Assists safety supervisor in conducting full investigation of accident / incident, including near misses. Determines probable causes, develops, circulate, and enforces appropriate permanent preventive measures.
❖ Assists Safety Supervisor in carrying out his duties and responsibilities and, in the latter's absence or on a project without one, assumes supervisory and other functions called for on the project.
❖ Liaises with the Client Site Safety Representative (s) and other plant concerned authorities or contractors on work related safety requirements at site.
❖ Closely monitors scaffold erection / dismantling work, permit-required confined space entries, crane work / lifting operations, hot work, equipment energization, tie-ins, and similar hazardous activities and ensures that all relevant requirements are complied with.
carries out daily site surveys to ensure only safe work methods are in operation, adequate fire and fall protection are in place, adequate welfare and first aid facilities are properly maintained, approved tools are being used and sufficient Personal Protective Equipment provided and properly worn.
❖ Checks and ensures compliance of site work-force with the approved Safe Work Permit System / Procedure in the plant.
❖ Participates at Corporate / Project-developed Safety Training/ Incentive and Awareness Programs; attends safety meetings with the client / other contractors.
