Maintained and future proofed instrumentation and automation systems for nearly 4000 MW power generation control systems across 7 different sites. Responsible for group-wide training protocol setup for all electrical engineering staff on programming, theoretical engineering standards, and hands-on training of equipment. This includes distributing and teaching technical details amongst all senior and junior engineers and personnel. Preparation of courses, standardization of testing, and lab planning for all relevant staff with multi-lingual options. Conducted surveys and created personal development plans for each staff member and their unique skills, wants, and needs. Worked primarily on Siemens T3000 maintenance, troubleshooting, service calls, and corrective actions. SCC5-2000E, SGT5-2000E and SST5-4000 turbines.
Responsible for the validation of safety instrumented function testing against BP safety requirement specification and safety lifecycle management, IEC61511 and IEC61508;. Definition and execution of commissioning work packs, ITR’s, and handover packages. Successfully commissioned the instrumentation and telecommunication scope of the $28Bn project meeting first gas milestones with a team of 20 expats and nationals. Working closely with client project management and vendor management, to overcome logistics and manpower restraints to deliver. Sucessful completion of 16 bcma gas producer.
Responsible for the preparation and delegation of commissioning work scope for integrated control and safety system (DeltaV), telecoms and packaged equipment control systems to a team of discipline engineers and their subordinate senior technicians and technicians. Commissioning work pack preparation, raise and close STQ’s for design issues. Managed a team of 10 instrument engineers to complete a total of 20 sub-systems and 1500 loops, including dynamic commissioning and punch items. Directly involved in vendor selection, planning, scheduling, and site mobilization. Successful project completion of 195, 000 BPOD producer.
Responsible for definition of the project scope and development of project specifications, project instrument engineering schedule and CTR’s. Team representative for design review, HAZOP, HAZID, and SIL. Responsible for the delivery of a major capital project through FEED and detail design. Bid and awarded brownfield and environment instrument scope totalling $100MM. Managed handover of design, specification, and philosophy documents for projects
Assigned to the instrumentation team reporting to the engineering manager and project director. Directly responsible for engineering and design related to ICSS, modular control and field auxiliary rooms (FAR), CCTV, PAGA, access control, security and network packages. Development and specification, PO placement, production and development.Successfully completing all vendor accepted instrumentation design scope for the $1Bn project.
Responsible for leading the construction team to commissioning handover, meeting design specs of ATEX and IECEx. Work scope required the commissioning of nitrogen separation membranes, 3 stage separators, and F&G system. Review and configuration of 1000 I/O Intellution HMI SCADA and communications network for monitoring 15 well heads and overhead for expansion including 8km fiber line. Coordinated all call offs and instrumentation handover to operations. Successfully completed all instrumentation scope of the $60MM EPF project
Responsible for commissioning works for multiple water injection packages and gas turbine compressors (Siemens Typhoon Turbines), loop checking Allan Bradley PLC’s, Plantscape, and RSLogix 5000 for associated systems including foundation fieldbus. Directly responsible for system handover and operational support. Successful handover of the utilities packages for the project totalling $15MM
Responsible for instrumentation maintenance for high stress environments of extraction and froth chemical treatment. Coordinated development of maintenance strategies and suitable conditions for works, including equipment criticality assessment for SIS and HIPPS instrumentation loops. Calibration of various instrumentation devices, delicate analyser equipment, and high-wear valve assemblies. Successful completion and execution of various shutdowns and turnarounds, both planned and unplanned. Management of vendor specialist engineers for various instrumentation and electrical equipment.
Skills in specific control disciplines, such as: advanced process control (APC) distributed control systems (DCS) programmable logic controllers (PLC) supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA). Tasks and responsibilities include: designing and developing new control systems testing, maintaining and modifying existing systems analysing data and presenting findings in written reports managing operations working collaboratively with design engineers, operation engineers, purchasers and other internal staff liaising with clients, suppliers, contractors and relevant authorities (e.g. the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority) project management within cost and time constrained environments understanding and ensuring compliance with relevant health and safety regulations and quality standards providing advice and consultancy support purchasing equipment writing computer software and test procedures developing new business proposals.
1) Specialize skills in international standards for petroleum/petrochemical plant materials and equipment including ISA, IEC, API, BS, ISO, etc. 2) Specialized skills with the industrial standards and code requirements for process control systems, especially Distributed Control Systems (DCS), Safety Integrated System (SIS), Fired Equipment & Burner Management Systems, Compressor Control Systems (CCS), Tank Gauging System (TGS), Custody Flow Metering System (CFMS), Instrument Asset Management System (IAMS) and Machine Monitoring Systems (MMS) and other field instrumentations. 3) Knowledgeable in oil and gas, refinery and petrochemical process and maintenance philosophies. 4) Knowledgeable in IPF/SIF engineering and implementation. 5) Knowledgeable in analyzer systems. 6) Specialized skills in reviewing project documentation, drawings, equipment specifications and testing procedures.
