During this I was responsible for resolving contractual disputes, issues and delays on behalf of the client; and also developed procedures to allow the effective interpreting of construction drawings and specifications by the project team.

► Established internal procedures/quality control systems to support marketing, sales and manufacturing functions

The key highlights include successfully assisting end users incorporate proprietary equipment within their water treatment systems for:

★ Ten Villages Water Supply Project to provide potable water to 10, 000 people (Delta State, Nigeria)
★ Campamento Water Treatment Plant with a total daily capacity of 2, 800 cubic meters (Honduras)
★ Orito Water Treatment Plant with a total daily capacity of 5, 600 cubic meters (Columbia)

Senior Design Engineer and Project Manager at Reid-Crowther Engineering (now part of the AECOM Group)

I successfully managed various municipal and water resources projects in Canada as well as overseas:

★ Generated the contract and procurement documents and conceptualized and designed upgrades of underground utilities at the Chevron Escravos Facility, Delta State, Nigeria
★ Designed and project managed the design and construction of wet utility systems for the Suncor Firebag SAG-D site development, Alberta
★ Designed the water reticulation, roads, sewage collection and treatment, stormwater drainage systems, landfill, power supply in residential developments in Lagos and Ugborodo, Nigeria
★ Designed a raw water diversion structure, pipeline extension and diversion channel upgrades to the raw water supply intake and conveyance of raw water for the City of Cranbrook, Canada
★ Various water supply and treatment projects, including a detailed design of raw water diversion structures and pump stations, pipeline extensions and reticulation networks on Cadet Training Camp: Ghost River Area, and the Loon Lake First Nations, Canada
★ Project managed a functional planning, conceptual and preliminary design, and cost estimates of storm water management systems for the extension of the Deerfoot Trail freeway, Calgary, Canada and the Light Rail Transit expansion in Calgary, Canada

Senior Design Engineer, Resident Engineer and Associate at Chunnett, Fourie & Partners (now part of the AECOM Group)

As a Senior Design Engineer and Resident Engineer I was involved in the following projects:

★ Designed and project managed the relocation of a river in an urban area to alleviate flooding of existing development and provided localize river channel stabilization
★ Designed the retaining structure and hydraulic gates for the Ulundi Balancing Storage Weir, Kwa-Zulu Natal, South Africa
★ Designed and managed various model studies of concrete-lined river channels within an urban area to determine flooding risks, and to verify flood control measures canals designed by conventional empirical design methods and computer modeling
★ Project managed a road-over-river bridge, Pretoria, Gauteng, South Africa. I conceptualized and designed a high flow bypass to reduce flood risks to adjacent properties, and designed the road and bridge structure including road alignment and structural designs

As Resident Engineer on the construction of the Driekoppies Dam; Mpumalanga Province, South Africa (a major dam, consisting of a 50m high zoned earth fill embankment (4.8 million m3) and a 200m uncontrolled concrete spillway with overall embankment length of 2, 400m), I was involved in the following:

★ Verified and monitored adherence to the construction schedule and meeting interim milestones to ensure the construction of the dam embankment was completed in the timely manner to minimize flooding of the temporary works
★ Reviewed and analyzed the construction material & the construction work on a regular basis, to assure the quality standards are met and maintain the quality control throughout the construction process
★ Monitored the field changes to the design to ensure compliance with the intent of the original design
