Provide technical support to clients over industrial automation products, electrical controls and power components, including VFD´s, PLC´s, Tactile Panels, sensors, actuators and contactors.
Provide engineering support and advices to Electrical Maintenance Group focused in improving reliability for electrical systems and equipment into oil refinery facilities and process plants. Also, provide electrical support for Operations Group and Projects Group.

Main duties and responsibilities:
- Develop preventive and corrective maintenance recommendations with solutions for Electrical Maintenance Group over electrical distribution system and field equipment including emergency diesel generators, electrical motors up to 7000hp, variable speed drives, 480V/2300V/4160V/13.8kV/34.5kV/115kV substations, metal-clad and SF6 gas insulated substations and switchgears, MCC´s, power transformers, power circuit breakers, underground power cables and overhead transmission lines, protective relays (electronic and old electromechanical), gas turbines, large industrial UPS, 125DC battery chargers, related Acid-Lead, Calcium-Lead & Nickel Cadmium battery banks and surge arrestors.
- Provide recommendations and improvements on electrical systems and system modifications.
- Provide in-site engineering support during maintenance labors.
- Participate in commissioning, start-up after preventive / corrective maintenance and troubleshooting of electrical equipment.
- Review electrical proposals, new engineering projects and systems modifications.
- Remote monitoring of electrical parameters of refinery.
- Conduct electrical analysis using ETAP software to perform electrical studies like load flow, motor starting and power electrical system balance.
- Liaise with manufacturer's representatives when required to solve technical issues.
- Investigate accidents and failures.
- Guidance to less experienced electrical engineers and technicians.
- Be available on call basis during weekends and festive days as well as overnight.
Lead and manage Electrical Maintenance Group in order to safely maintain and operate the electrical service of the oil refinery utilities & process plants without interruptions, following maintenance procedures, electrical safety and best electrical practices to ensure reliability and service continuity.
Electrical Maintenance Group made up by 7 to 12 electrical supervisors and 42 to 75 electricians depending of the working requirements.
Maintenance responsibilities were over electrical power generation and distribution system and subsystems in Low, Medium and High voltage, covering field electrical equipment of many different brands, emergency diesel generators, electrical motors up to 3500hp moving pumps, compressors and fans, 480V/2300V/4160V/13.8kV/34.5kV/115kV substations (62 substations), metal-clad and SF6 gas insulated substations and switchgears, MCC´s, Variable Frecuency Drives, power transformers, power circuit breakers, underground power cables, overhead transmission lines, ground systems and surge arrestors, protective relays (electronic and old electromechanical), gas turbines, steam turbines, large industrial UPS for critical AC plant loads, 125DC battery chargers for critical instrumentation and emergency shutdown systems, related Acid-Lead, Calcium-Lead & Nickel Cadmium battery banks and emergency fire station pumps equipment maintenance.
Electrical operations executions were over electrical loads and distribution circuits from 480V to 115kV in communication with Central Load Dispatcher, in order to shut down for maintenance and return to service after interventions.
Main duties and responsibilities:
- Optimize electrical reliability and availability through the Preventive Maintenance Plan execution and control while transmitting safety and reliability culture to the working team.
- Follow up preventive maintenance progress under SAP systems feed by Supervisors.
- Coordinate maintenance activities with Electrical Maintenance Supervisor.
- Coordinate maintenance and off duty equipment interventions with other involved disciplines (Operations, Reliability Engineering, Mechanicals, Rotative Equipment, Instrumentation and Industrial Safety among others) during morning meetings.
- Following up and compliance of Safety, Health, Environment requirements according to refinery procedures, doing field visits, inspections and keeping records.
- Corrective maintenance coordination and execution control (when occurs).
- Develop maintenance strategies under low resources environments.
- Maintain maintenance execution and equipment intervention records.
- Participate in investigation of accidents and failures.
- Spares parts control and annual maintenance budget control.
- Staff and contracted personnel administration, controlling assistance, training, time, vacations and more.
- Presentation of daily and monthly reports.
- Guidance of less experienced engineers and technicians.
- Be available on call basis during weekends and festive days as well as overnight.
On-field supervision of maintenance execution works, during normal operation and under emergencies, following and fulfilling maintenance procedures, safety electrical practices and the best learned practices.
Team was made up by 4 to 6 qualified electricians.
Interventions and preventive / corrective maintenance performed over electrical system on motors and its controls, large industrial UPS, industrial 125VDC battery chargers and related Pb-Ac, Ca-Ac & Ni-Cd battery banks, power brakers (vaccum, air open and magneblast), MCC´s and substations bars on 480V/2300V/4160V/13.8kV, overhead transmission lines components, underground cables and manholes, variable speed drives and excitation/ control sytem installed on gas turbines and steam turbines.
Main duties and responsibilities:
- Directly responsible for team workers daily tasks assignation and maintenance execution, assuring equipment reliability, personnel and site safety.
- Responsible for Tag Out Lock Out of equipment and work permits under classified explosive areas, acid areas, H2S and confined spaces.
- Maintenance activities planning and resources on a daily, weekly and montly basis according to maintenance plans, requirements and priority.
- Participate in coordination meetings with other involved disciplines maintenance supervisors, engineers and operators.
- Responsible about safety, health and environment rules compliance.
- Troubleshoot, operate and test industrial electrical system and field equipment.
- Feed SAP Maintenance Module with orders and failures notifications, spare parts and consumable requirements.
- Prepare materials requisitions to ensure materials and resources on time and efficiently in order to optimize maintenance tasks.
- Test and acceptance of new electrical equipment.
- Annual budget definition and administration focused on parts and contracts.
- Participate in Investigations of accidents and failures as part of a multi discipline team.
- Guidance to less experienced electricians, technicians and apprentices.
- Be available on call basis during weekends and festive days as well as overnight.
Maintenance of SCADA system for regional electrical power distribution, turbo generation and oil fields pipelines based on Intellution Fix SCADA platform, retrieving data from remote micro processed equipment like PLC`s, GE Multilin 269/735/737/745/750, ABB DPU2000R, protection relays, Allen Bradley PLC5, SEL relays and valves, pumps, transmitters and variable frequency drives.
Automation technical support on industrial manufacturing plants. Make automation proposals. Design and integrate PLC´s, HMI´s, instrumentation and sensors to the industrial processing lines. PLC´s program design and implantation.
