I had a work experience of one year in Dubai and I have recently relocated with same company to Qatar, since my wife is relocated here and has a career path to attend.
Scope of my duties and responsibilities:
Efficiently handling the recording of all accounting transactions for Lebanon
Monitor and control all accounting records & reporting for Lebanon, Dubai, India, Malta and Cyprus
Extract Aging of A/P and A/R, reconciling it accordingly as well
Cash & Bank Reconciliations on a daily basis
Preparation of monthly payroll, Income Tax, NSSF, VAT for Lebanon
Calculating Market Coordinators’ commission as per the incentive scheme
Review & control of India’s office monthly expenses
Ensure accurate recording of demurrages and purchases added to final cost
Monitor and manage monthly inventory physical stock count and reconciling differences
Review of cost allocated to purchase, negative stock, average costing and cost vs sales value, Goods in transit, Deferred Revenue
Review of liquidity position to meet ongoing operational needs
Hedging for foreign currency payments, future contracts
Prepare monthly closing and cost accounting reports.
Closing inventory module that derives on closing stock vs net purchases
Review and pass specified entries automated for DOE (Difference of Exchange)
Resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities
Create reports related to Income statement, Balance sheet & cash flow
Create Consolidated Report to be issued Quarterly
Assist in implementation of Budget Analysis (Actual vs Forecasted)
Scope of my duties and responsibilities:
Manage and supervise all accounting transactions.
Conducts daily cash transaction control.
Conducts checks payable control and the related supplier invoices.
Ensures the posting of all purchases either local or foreign and prepare the costing format if necessary.
Audits and approve all journal entries prior to posting.
Supervise the delegated accountant to review Clients’ account receivables.
Conducts audits on suppliers’ due date payments (aging payables), bank movements and reconciliation.
Ensures that all financial statements / reports are accurate and available on time by effectively closing the month.
Suggests improvements in process to increase effectiveness of department.
Conducts random checks on accounting records and makes sure all documents and transactions are done according to internal and governmental rules and regulations.
Establishes and maintains accounting practices to ensure accurate and reliable data necessary for business operations.
Prepares month end closing: Depreciation / Inventory adjustments / accruals, prepaid and provision / Payroll entry.
Prepares the VAT, Salaries income Tax reports and statements before declaration with external auditors.
Structure an accounting department by hiring staff related & train them to provide a standardized accounting methods and workflow procedures that is required by GAP
Financial Controller (Scope of my duties and responsibilities):
Develop and implement new accounting procedures & policies maintaining the international standards along a constructive controlling system to avoid risk and fraud from occurring
Controlling all accounts by controlling my team of Ghanaians and Expatriates in different positions to accurately define their tasks and ensure that the objectives are achieved including the end month closing process
Control Aging (Payables, Receivables) to assist in the collection process and that our debts are paid on time
Preparing payroll at the closing of each month along the related components
Manage Reconciliations (Accounts Payable, Banks, Accounts Receivable) ending of each month
Ensure that the accounting documents are properly filed to maintain accuracy
Preparing all schedules needed for end of month closing process.
Managing cash flow and its related components such as banks, receivables, liquidity, sales level, purchases and all other expenses presenting it on a daily basis to management
Responsible for all bank relations and facilities
Financial forecasting, interest analysis and managing inflation of currency
Track shipments, letter of credits with suppliers overseas in coordination with the cost control and stock accountant (Expatriate) along the duties, clearance with CEPS (Customs authorities)
Responsible for submitting financial statements accurately on a monthly basis along financial ratios measurement and an audit report listing all threats, compliance, accuracy, coverage of accounting areas
Provide a stock analysis report to ensure profitability margins are met and assist in pricing decisions if occur
Cost and expense analysis to increase profitability and to reduce the level of COGS (cost of goods sold).
Liaising with governmental services and ensuring that all taxes are paid.
Assist the Finance Manager in Budgeting report and the forecasts for the upcoming year
Coordinate with the external auditors (Deloitte & Touche) by providing them with the requested information and data
Group Internal Auditor (Scope of my duties and responsibilities):
Controlling and auditing financial statements issued by financial managers for all companies under Finatrade Holding SA
Auditing trial balance and creating advanced Excel sheets for accounting ledgers control
Presenting an audit report listing all threats, compliance, accuracy, coverage of accounting areas and the impact on the P&L
Responsible for at least one full field audit for one of the companies per month
Replacements when needed, for finance managers, Financial Controllers and treasury managers as well
Training and providing assistance for new comers in the accounting / finance field
Collaborating with my team to maximize profit through thorough cost analysis

Exotica were founded in Lebanon in 1978 under Debbane Group, as an agricultural company involved in the ornamental and gifting sector of the MENA region.
I started as an accountant and after six months promoted to a senior accountant.
Scope of my duties and responsibilities:
Responsible for all journal vouchers entries in to the accounting system
Job costing for all landscape and maintenance projects
Controlling all POS (Point of Sale) expenses
Assisting the stock controller in the inventory control and stock evaluation
Cash and bank reconciliation, along in assisting for bank positioning

I started as a crew and used to work by rotation on all stations (counter to serve clients, Kitchen for preparing burgers, lobby as cleanliness), etc... I then started improving my skills on the managerial level and sales one, in which it helped me to get promoted. I ended up my fourth year in McDonalds as a Swing manager certified as I started a part time job along my studies. I gained experience along all tasks given to a manager including quality control, Purchasing, Cost control, Maintenance of equipment, training & development of crews, Accounting & Reporting. N.B: I took a bronze award from USA in 2008 for number one manager in Lebanon.
