KEY ACHIEVEMENTS & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Fully accountable for the management of a number of key operational functions, including: o Reviewing and generating instrument deliverables from SPI INtools o Guaranteeing the quality of documents prepared to cover the work conducted. o Capturing field survey and data for control panel / marshaling rack refurbishment.
• Accountable for the following SPI INtools operational functions:
o Creating and adding new and existing tags (loop, cable, instrument, panel, line, junction box, Marshaling rack, DCS, safety panel, Terminal strip)
o Defining intrinsic circuit types, performing the loop intrinsic safety calculation and printing reports
o Performing hook-up and loop drawing generations and associated works such as setting preferences, reviewing hook-up drawing symbol contents, associating/dissociating items/tags to hook-ups and AutoCAD blocks, editing revisions, printing drawing reports, configuring loop drawing and hook-up modules for AutoCAD/Enhanced reporting, generating BOM, etc.
o Modifying wiring connections on existing loop diagrams, and performing other wiring connection works such as creating new and existing apparatus configurations, cross wiring signals in marshalling rack, adding new instruments to existing wiring etc.
o Working in collaboration with Process and piping teams to review calculated control valve and orifice plate sizes, process data sheet reports
o Reviewing existing spec from domain explorer (spec module or instrument index EDE view), generating, and editing spec for flow meters and control valves and performing other associated works such as encrypting spec data fields, updating a spec from a form data template, etc.
• Designing, verification and optimisation of safety instrumented systems of various process plants in Port Harcourt Refinery complex
• Reviewing and managing vendor specifications for burner management systems (BMS), emergency shutdown systems (ESD), safety interlock systems and fire & gas systems for the turbine power plant, jetty, reactors and other areas
• Conducted FSA following the completion of the SRS for Jetty A&B and Lock Hopper SIS refurbishment/design
• Conducting extensive archive document retrieval, document reviews, mark-up and modification of the following: P&ID, HAZOP reports, QRA reports, firefighting and detection system data reports, fishbone diagrams and existing SIL analysis reports.
• Preparing, managing and reviewing numerous SIS documents and reports - i.e. Safety system engineering checklist, Control and safety philosophy, Functional design specifications for SIS, SIL verification reports
• Ensuring that existing analyser fast loop pump skids, sampling & conditioning skids, sampling /validation points, shelter, sample probes and other components agree with the proposed replacement/modification specifications and performing same for valves, thermowell/connection and temperature elements, transmitters, marshaling & system cabinets, consoles, earthing bars and instrument earth
• Performing survey to verify existing instrument line battery limit, size and type of instrument taping points
• Collaborated with piping team to resolve thermowell U-length, flange rating and extension line issues
• Providing support with the global technical coordination between the several engineering development centers in volved in the project.
• Marking up P&IDs, instrument, junction boxes and cable tray/trench layout drawings
KEY ACHIEVEMENTS & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Ensured continual improvements to working conditions and guaranteed compliance with HSE standards.
• Created plant loops and instrument tags, updated instrument index, l/o list, generated loop/hook-up diagrams, and BOM.
• Reviewed, updated and generated spec data sheets for control valves and orifice plates
• Configured SPI projects and managed PPM data base for instrument/equipment tags
• Fully accountable for the management of numerous SPI administration aspects, including:
o Initializing domain in the database, creating user department and assigning/adding users to departments and groups
o Creating plant hierarchy and defining instrument tag and loop naming conventions
• Performed on-site field surveys accurately, preparing technical narratives to document processes and design changes.
• Created work requests, preventive maintenance schedules and managing other maintenance activities such as generating reports and event records from the SPI database.
• Successfully ensured daily maintenance and reporting targets were met and documented consistently, resolving Profibus failures, facilitating reduced downtime of critical equipment
• Managed and directed the activities of Electrical and Instrumentation Technicians, ensuring correct functioning of instruments and electrical components, as well as providing accurate and comprehensive training of new employees.
• Ensured comprehensive probation and KPI appraisals were conducted for Electrical & Instrumentation Technicians.
• Prepared and offered engineers, technicians and designers technical direction on SEP/PREP projects and initiatives including supervising the control panel wiring & termination team.
• Oversaw the installation, commissioning, and maintenance of the following safety systems: Emergency Shutdown (ESD) System, Safety Shutdown System. Safety Interlock System, Fire and Gas System during the construction, installation, commissioning and maintenance of main boiler and waste heat recovery boiler (WHRB)), compressor systems, SEP, MSP, LNG gas station for power generation and Acid Oil Plant
• Created a control panel operation sequence, ensuring correct operation and maintenance of the power plant generators.

• Fully accountable for the management of various significant duties and responsibilities, including: o Training junior staff on machine operation and maintenance installations, achieving project efficiencies.
• Completing daily maintenance targets as well as conducting inspections on boilers: o Eliminating machine downtime o Supporting the resolution of future issues. o Monitoring daily instrument performance. o Dismantling, repairing and installing pumps, drivers and associated instrumentation.
• Checked for malfunctioning sensing elements, calibrating Thermocouple/RTD, D/P cell, ratio and analyser transmitters, flow meters, and valves.
• Performed maintenance procedures and repairs on existing electrical products and systems.
