Administrative duties (may include, but not limited to):
• Acts as a liaison and information agent for patients, staff, physicians and visitors
• Provides clerical support to unit operations
• Co-ordinates/Schedules tests, exams, treatments and activities for patients according to physician orders and established department protocol as required
• Facilitates post discharge clinic visits and/or tests as required
• Helps arrange patient transportation as required
• Coordinates information and supplies during emergent situations.
• Acts as a translator when required
• Acts as a chaperone when required
• Maintains confidentiality of all oral, written and electronic information regarding patients and families
• Facilitates the acquisition of unit and patient supplies and equipment
• Maintains work areas in a neat and orderly manner
• Answers incoming telephone calls
• Co-ordinates assignment of Vocera communication device
• Directs and/or escorts patients/relatives to the appropriate treatment room or other locations within CCAD
• Monitors status of beds within unit and supports in coordination with their supervisor and other external departments
• Assists with contacting caregivers in emergent and non-emergent situations
• Transports patient specific non-controlled medications if required and as assigned by their line manager
• Performs other duties as assigned by their line manager
Clinical duties (may include, but not limited to):
• Obtain height, weight, intake and output
• Acts as a chaperone or safety attendant as required
• Responds to patient/family and visitor requests (non-medical) and answers call bells
• Send specimens to laboratory for testing, including transporting specimens to lab as needed
• Assists with activities of daily living while ensuring patient privacy and dignity including but not limited to washing and bathing, dressing, all aspects of personal hygiene, assistance with dietary requirements, ambulation and safe movement/transfer of patients
• Performs other duties as assigned by line manager

• Patients are received and orientated on admission to the unit
• Ensure stock levels of required unit documentation are maintained
• Ordering unit supplies from stores department and follow up delayed deliveries
• Assist communication flow within the unit by answering calls and directing them to appropriate members of the healthcare/administrative team
• Maintaining the patient medical record in accordance with Hospital policy
• Patients' healthcare-related discharge appointments and treatments are arranged (e.g., x-rays, pathology, ancillary health services)
• Stock is billed according to set guidelines
• Coordination is done between patient, relatives, and insurance personnel in case of nil or limited approval under guidance of the Nurse Manager
• Ensure Clients expectations are met, and quality client service principles maintained and complaints resolved promptly
• Independent and timely processing of E-claims/paper claims in accordance with client requirements, member plan benefits, and applicable network fee schedules with minimal assistance.
• Enters claims data into system (CERECONS/MED-VANTAGE) while interpreting coding and understanding medical terminology in relation to diagnoses and procedures. (CPT, ICD9, ICD10, HCPCS, E&M Codes, Greenrain Codes)
• Process claim forms, adjudicates for allocation of discounts, deductibles, co-payments, co-insurance maximums and provider reimbursement.
• Follows adjudication policies and procedures to ensure proper payments of claims.
• Meet quotas in terms of quantity and quality of claims processing standards.
• Maintain current knowledge as assigned plan and effectively apply this knowledge in processing of claims and in providing customer service.
• Research bill discrepancies.
• Resubmitting claims to third part carriers.
• Reviewing transferred claims.
• Report non-payment issues.
• Contacting clients to update personal information.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
• Assess medical, personal accident and death claims
• Monitor claims status in accordance to insurance’s days of processing.
• Checking of computed benefit and encoding of all received documents & settled claims.
• Enters claims data into system while interpreting coding and understanding medical terminology in relation to diagnoses and procedures.
• Follows adjudication polices and procedures to ensure proper payment of claims.
• Provides prompt customer service to members, providers, billing departments and other insurance companies regarding claims.
• Documents phone calls in system and follows up on issues if needed.
• Audits randomly selected claims to ensure quality processing.
• Researches claim overpayments and requests funds.
Staff Nurse Practitioner is responsible in developing the day-to-day nursing care plans both in the hospital and for care after discharge. Perform frequent patient evaluations, including monitoring and tracking vital signs, performing procedures such as IV placement, phlebotomy, and administering medications.
Rural Health Nurse is responsible in conducting regular monitoring and evaluation of various health programs of the municipality. Assist in the conduction of disease surveillance. Conduct health education and training.
Nurse Trainee performs routine tasks under the supervision of nursing and medical staff. Assess patient health problems and needs, develop and implement nursing care plans, and maintain medical records. Administer nursing care to ill, injured, convalescent, or disabled patients.
