Oversee finances, accounting, reporting, billing, collections, materials, cash management, forecasting, information and communication technologies (ICT), supply chain management for 3 blocks totalling US$474m in sales. Lead onsite team, including finance controller, JV deputy finance manager, head of accounting, ICT senior engineer, purchase manager, material coordinator, staff / accountants, and accounting clerks. Devise cost controls and monthly forecast with the other executives and department heads. Analyze financial results for reporting to management, partners and head office. Ensure internal policies compliance for business operations and accounting functions. Managed change during company transitions.
Achievements:
• Improved government relations that enable the company to collect US$32m of overdue receivables in 2011 and US$82m for 2012.
• Successfully finalized the sale of one of our blocks for US$62m and cost recoverability of more than 90% of the company total investments, costs and expenses of over US$100m.
• Saved US$120, 000 per year in labour costs and reduced staff requirements by 3 while enhancing supply chain management are and ICT departments. Changed personnel in finance department to improve reporting accuracy with better analysis, internal controls, and process improvements.
• Leading role on implementation team rolling out SUN information system company-wide.
Acting Finance Manager (Ecuador) 2008 - 2009
Main Achievements:
• Developed a strategy to reduce tax contingencies of more than US$11m.
• Implemented IFRS to report to head office starting 2008.

Main achievements:
• Carried out a series of economic analysis and developed a strategy that saved the group US$17m annually (WTI $50/Bbl) on the new hydrocarbon law.
Responsible for the areas of accounting, treasury and planning. This includes the economic model, five-year plans, budgets and its control during the first phase of this assignment.
Main achievements:
• Improvement of the relation with the Libyan National Oil Company to recover US$50m of
overdue collections for over 2 years.
• Implemented SAP in record time.
Treasury Manager Caribbean Region 2000 - 2002
Responsible for the treasury of the region with outflows of US$120m a year and financial relations with Maxus YPF Partners.
Main Achievements:
• Participated in the merge of Repsol with YPF and Astra, in which the company went from operating one block to more than eight amongst Venezuela, Trinity and Tobago, and Surinam.
• Audited the purchase price of 30% of the upstream assets of bp in Trinity and Tobago for US$300m that concluded with the purchase of assets from bp.
• Headed the implementation of the SAP system in coordination with the Head Office.
