Shift Foreman at Lubrizol Additves (ZhuHai) Company Limited

 Ensure the overall HSES performance of my shift and Zhuhai Plant.
 A key responsibility of the Shift Foreman can be that of Shift Fire Chief, Assistant Shift Fire Chief or Shift Fire Captain or member of the Emergency Response Teams (ERT).
 Meet or exceed the business objectives of Zhuhai plant.
 Another key responsibility of a Shift Foreman is can be attending the plant daily site meeting, when working day shift.
 Provide instruction and guidance on the safe and economical and environmental operation of his/her shift and the plant.
 Unit turnarounds are essential to smooth unit operations, but they are also a vulnerable time when safety incidents can occur.
 Meet the “practice in place” definition of Responsible Care’s codes of management practice.
 Stimulate employee growth and development for current and future plant/company needs.
 Maintain a good work environment/culture at Zhuhai plant that fosters efficiency, effectiveness and high morale and a safe and environmentally clean workplace and promotes a work environment that is fun and creates an atmosphere of creativity and accomplishment.
 Other duties as assigned.

Main Achievement:
a. Be familiar with the mode from Lubrizol Company on how to organize and supervise a chemical plant quality and HSE under construction.
b. Be familiar with Lubrizol standards from all sides, included construction supervise, commissioning and operation as well as HSE.
c. Master Lubrizol additive process, and knew Emerson Delta-V12 DSC operation system.
d. English communication skills and team management skills had been greatly improved.

What I have done in the past 10 years:
1. Be trained by CSPC from Jul. 2003 to Jul.2004 to as for a Chief Process Operator according to Shell standards. 2. Took part in plant attachment training in Shell Moerdijk, Netherlands SMPO plant and Shell Singapore SMPO plant
3. As a CPO, leading all shift members to do paper work for SMPO (Styrene Monomer and Propylene Oxide) project and wrote SMPO plant procedure for start-up from Feb. to the end of 2004.
4. Organized and leaded SMPO Start-up Procedures refreshing Training and Operators Simulator Training.
5. As a CPO, took part in SMPO plant Utilities Failure procedures writing, drafting, and update.
6. Leaded and organized all shift members to supervise SMPO Plant construction quality and HSE from Jun. 2004 to Oct. 2005.
7. Organized and commissioned some units (U-4100/4200/5400) in SMPO plant from Jun 2005 to Oct 2005.
8. As a CPO, took part in and organized SMPO plant initial startup in Jan, 2006;
9. Updated some operation procedures according to initial startup experience May 2006.
10. About one month’s experience on plant maintenance coordinator in Aug, 2007.
11. About one year’s CCSE course learning and passed its examination, and be a China Certificated Safety Engineer in 2009.
12. As a Head Process Operator, took part in and organized SMPO plant De-bottleneck and Turn-around work, and in charge of some units’ PTW work in 2010.
13. As a start up operator I was sent to Shell Qatar GTL plant to support this plant initial start up from Jun 2011 to Nov 2011. Because my performance was very good, I was awarded a PIP (Pride in Production) certificate from this company.
14. After jointed into Lubrizol, I was involved into FAT work, and DCS graphics review.
15. From Jun 2012 to Sep 2012, I attended Lube Oil Additives Process training in Lubrizol Texas Plant.
16. In January 2013, I had one week visiting to Lubrizol South East Asia (Singapore) Company, to learn this plant good practice on Blending unit and plant management experience.
17. As a 16 members’ team leader, I was assigned to in charge of Phenate unit commissioning work.
18. From April 2013, I attended Lubrizol (Zhuhai) Company plant initial start-up.

Chief Process Operator at CNOOC and Shell Petrochemical Limited Company

1. Direct operators to check and control the plant so as to secure the product in terms of quality and quantity; Manages overall plant performance and operating window, thus integrity.
2. Ensure production in accordance with operation plan, standards and instructions so that daily production plans are achieved in an efficient manner.
3. Liaise with Plant Coordinator in providing input to production plans, operating instructions etc.
4. Take corrective actions with shift members in adjusting operation condition of the plant in the event of plant upsets, and independently judge to stop the plant in case it is needed urgently.
5. Direct small maintenance work safely done by operators.
6. Coordinates with logistics or other units if appropriate on raw materials, utilities supply.
7. Monitors plant process and machinery functions of equipment and provides maintenance request to maintenance coordinator when appropriate.
8. Take lead to implement planned/emergent SD, Decon and SU with the production coordinator’s support.
9. Suggest improvements of process, procedure, etc, to minimize safety risks, environmental hazards, non-conformances and operation cost.
10. Organize the shift staff training/learning as per plan and special demands to have shift staff achieving their WALP target.
11. Ensure PTW rules implementing smoothly.
12. Ensure the ESP implementation going well by SS’s leadership.
13. Ensure ERP well being drilled during normal operation and take lead while emergent event happened, have team getting the correct response independently and quickly. Make decision to shut down the plant based on the actual emergency.
14. Ensures incident and non-conformity reporting, registration and follow-up within the ops team and other functions.
15. Demonstrate company’s Value and EFB( Enterprise First Behaviour).

Main Achievement:
a. Be familiar with the mode from Shell Company on how to organize and supervise a chemical plant quality and HSE under construction, and knew its advantages and shortcomings compared with Chinese traditional mode for that.
b. Be familiar with Shell standards from all sides, included construction supervise, commissioning and operation as well as HSE.
c. Be grown to be a confident team leader and Supervisor in Chemical industry as per international standards.
d. English communication skills and team management skills had been greatly improved.
3. Guangzhou Petrochemicals Company

Start up operator in GTL plant at Shell Qatar PGTL Company

  • June 2011 to December 2011

1. Supported and helped local operators to familiar Shell company HSSE system, especially for the PTW system.
2. Attend GTL plant phase 2 commissioning work, most of those are systems' RFC/RFSU/ HSSE walkdown and RFI.
3. Attended the trouble shooting team work, and solved the problem from LED column C-3601 top accumulative vessel V-3601 interface difficult to build up.
4. Attended GTL plant phase 2 started up procedures discussion, and made some suggestion on the C-3601 start up in order to avoind this column flutuation during heating up.
5. Attended turbine compressors K-3201/3001/3141/3041 mechnical running test, solo runing test, and anti-surge running test.
6. Learned and familiar GTL plant process, and familiar FGP/LPU units process, enlarged personal knowledge on gas plant.
