Woodie-woodie Manganese Recovery Operation
• Provide technical support to the management team; Identifying, investigating, and implementing output improvement opportunities; Evaluating, developing and progressing various metallurgical projects; Supporting and advancing critical equipment design; Consulting with other Technical Personnel in the mine in order to optimize plant performance.
• Setting up and monitoring of metallurgical plant operational parameters; Monitoring plant operational efficiency; Training plant operators and laboratory personnel; Monitoring and ordering of supplies; Organize product movement, stockpiling and hauling schedules; Plans, coordinates, executes and reports any operational modifications, testing, and abnormalities observed;
• Manage the over-all operation of the Laboratory and supervise lab personnel; Formulate and modify Standard Working Procedures; Calibrate the XRF machine on-site and other sites; Ensure proper procedure and safe working environment for the personnel are in place; Coordinates with Site Manager on ways to achieve targets; Personally conduct sampling and testing for plant operational support.
• Prepare metallurgical accounting, stockpiling and production reports daily; perform other duties and actions related to the successful operation and administration of the laboratory and the processing plant, either as directed by the Manager or as dictated by circumstances.
• Supervise the general operation of the analytical laboratory and ensure good quality results at the highest level; Organize manpower schedules for effective laboratory operation; Ensure productivity turnarounds are met; Monitor and encourage safety attitude to all subordinates and everyone in the company, and continually watch for and correct unsafe practices and to report incidents that may have a broader impact.
• Check, identify and repeat samples that show anomalous results, and approves test results in conformance with established quality control parameters and analytical procedures; Checks and performs tests for conformance of all calibration standards to established quality control parameters; Checks, maintains and reports any abnormal operational status of the AAS machine and other laboratory equipment; Ensures that other laboratory equipment are calibrated regularly to established quality control parameters.
• Monitor consumables and supplies and make purchase order/s when necessary.
• Ensure that all documentations including SOP, QC Records, Calibration Records, training Records, Production Logs, Maintenance Records and other records are maintained as required by the company policy for full and effective audit and control purposes; Ensure high level of housekeeping is continually maintained; Other duties and actions related to the successful operation and administration of the laboratory, either as directed by the General Manager, or as dictated by circumstances.
• Analysis of exploration, mine and processed ore materials by instrumental method using Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer; Analysis of pregnant and barren cyanide solutions by the same instrumental method; Preparation of samples in the absence of the designated persons and run the sample preparation operation in the absence of the Chief Chemist; Perform Fire Assaying of Bullion Exchange, Product Bullions and precipitate samples in the absence of the designated Fire Assayer; Assist in the actual metallurgical tests and help evaluates the results when needed.
• Perform other jobs as maybe assigned by the Chief Chemist or the Mill Superintendent.
• Instrumental analysis of metal samples and foundry products, like bronze, cast iron, chrome iron, etc., by using a One Spark Analyzer Spectrophotometer; Perform chemical analysis of raw materials for financial settlement and/or acceptance or rejection purposes by gravimetric or volumetric analysis.
• Generates of memos, general reports, daily, weekly, monthly and annual departmental reports, analysis reports, copper cathode shipment certificates, by-product shipment certificates and many other correspondents as maybe required; Uploading or encoding of laboratory analysis results to the database; Render technical and non-technical assistance to the laboratory staffs (supervisors and lead men); Filing and safekeeping of all Laboratory documents.
• Analysis of the following Raw Materials (copper concentrates, lime, barite, glue, sodium carbonate/sulfates, silica sand/quartz, etc.) by volumetric, gravimetric and instrumental methods; Analysis of the following By-Product Materials (selenium powder, sulfuric acid, copper anode, copper telluride, decopperized slime, etc.) by volumetric and instrumental methods; Analysis of the following elements for the Main Product (Copper Cathode) by instrumental method using atomic absorption spectrophotometer.
• Iron, Lead, Tin, Nickel, Arsenic, Bismuth, Selenium, Tellurium, Silver and Zinc
• Preparation of reagents and perform other tasks as maybe assigned by the immediate superior.
Major in Quality Control Graduated with Honors (Cum Laude Equivalent)
