- Responsible for drilling the off-vertical portion of the wellbore in accordance with the operator's drilling program so that all targets are reached. Directional Drillers oversee the rig up and rig down of the steering portion of the bottom hole assembly and work within the drilling contractor's and operator's safety and operational policies.
- Assists in the operation, inspection and maintenance of motors and down hole tools at rig site.
- Assists in the generation of daily and Final Well reports on services performed.
- Assists in the generation of field reports using the field reporting software.
- Assists in maintaining well profile plots and providing customer with directional survey data.
- Collaborates with the MWD team to ensure BHA specification and engineering optimization parameters are realized.
- Maintains equipment records of equipment at wellsite.
- Perform various other duties and activities as assigned by supervisor within the physical constraints of the job.

- First responsible of unit and mud logging crew
- Analyze the cuttings brought to the surface by mud in order to identify the lithology of the formations traversed and the presence of the hydrocarbons indexes.
- Facilitating the drilling operation and Well Safety.
- Monitoring of petroleum drillings on real time (12 hours of the day post).
- Simulation and optimization (hydraulics, tools, pressure…).
- Detection over pressure zones, gains and novices gases (H2S).
- Gathering and archiving of data for future investigations.
- Coordinating the work of installation of mud logging unit, sensors installation and calibration, and controlling the installation at the end.
- Directing and participating in the installation of computer system and other equipment.
- Directing the configurations and the calibrations of sensors.
- Being responsible for the job (during night).
- Ensuring the smooth functioning of the system and intervening on failures.
- Using the data gathered by the Mud Logger (lithological description, calcimetry, fluorescence…) and controlling his works.
- Identifying the formations tops and performing geological correlations.
- Carrying out the programs of engineering, interpretation, and geology and communicating with the clients (geologist, driller) about the technical problems.
- Preparing and updating the final report, the logs, and administrative documents.
- Describing the geological samples and the cores.
- Assisting the Mud Logger in acquiring the required knowledge (if there is spare time)
- Designing models for reports and logs according to the demand of the client.
