Area of Assingment: OB Gynel Ward, Delivery Room, Out-Patient Department
• Provides direct care to patients;
• Assesses patient’s condition, takes the vital signs, IPPA;
• Refers patient accordingly based on nursing assessment and evaluation;
• Reviews and carries out doctor’s orders appropriately;
• Receives and endorses patients;
• Checks Blood Sugar
• Positions patient promptly and accordingly;
• Observes appropriate wound management and application of dressings;
• Assists patients in changing and feeding, including nasogastric feeding, according to patient’s level of needs;
• Interacts with relevant department regarding patient care. Refers patients to social service for financial assistance, dietary department for nutritional needs and to physical therapist for rehabilitation program;
• Maintains proper environmental sanitation and observes medical asepsis for infection control;
• Positions patient promptly and accordingly;
• Administer oxygen inhalation according to patient’s need along with doctor’s order;
• Suctions nasal and oral secretions with the use of suction machine; and
• Observes patient condition before, during and after carrying out diagnostic and therapeutic procedures
• Maintains good working relations with patient, staff, physicians and relevant others.
• Perform newborn care on newly delivered babies.
