Duties and responsibilities:
• Analysis, improvement of existing Electrical equipment Maintenance plans, develop and follow maintenance programs for new equipment and facilities.
• Team leader for performing troubleshooting, repair and maintenance of all Plant and production facilities Electrical equipment.
• Development and applying of Preventive, Predictive Maintenance and condition monitoring Programs & techniques.
• Performing upgrade studies, aging, obsolescence and Asset Life Cycle management and life extension plans.
• Review complete Electrical scope of work, design basis and FEED of new projects and recommend design and materials modifications, prepare equipment and installations specifications and Pre-qualification of contractors to achieve highest reliability and quality.
• Lead and participate in commissioning, testing and start up tasks of new Electrical and Instrumentation installation and systems.
• Participate in inventory reduction plans, reviewing spare stock levels, update specifications and description of inventory items and develop permanent specification guides for purchasing equipment for optimized and stable operations.
• Preparing maintenance budget plan, and provide technical recommendations for procurement of major equipment.
• Provide Instruction and training for entry level engineers and technicians.
• Study and implement up to date Electrical Equipment maintenance, reliability and installation practices and techniques according to updated and latest industry standards and codes.
• Develop and review all MOC (Management Of Change) Plans for proposed modifications in Plants & production Facilities and work Procedures.
• Following up Electrical Equipment repeated upsets, Studying bad actor equipment and its problematic areas, performing Root cause analysis, writing Upset reports, recommend and implement corrective actions trackers to treat problems root causes.
• Sizing of different plants and facilities electrical equipment according to related standards and sizing software such as ETAP, CAT SPECSIZER and other specialized tools.
• Maintenance, shutdown and TA planning and scheduling activities using CMMS and asset management systems like ORACLE EAM and ORACLE ERP .
• Performing surveys for Ex / Hazardous areas equipment inspection in routine basis and during unit shutdowns & Turnarounds and apply necessary remedial actions.
• Extensive and hands on knowledge & Experience with variety of Electrical Equipment such as (not exclusively) :
- Motors (NEMA, IEC Ex and Ordinary, LV&HV such as : SIEMENS, GE, BROOK, MARATHON, LEESON, WESTINGHOUSE, TOSHIBA, ABB and others).
- Generators (turbines and reciprocating driven) : SOLAR Gas Turbines, Diesel and Gas generators (CATERPILLAR, PERKINS, FG WILSON) . Alternators ( MARATHON, CAT, KATO, LEROY SOMER )
- Generator & engines controls: Excitation systems and AVRs: BASLER, CAT, LEROY SOMER. Engines and speed controls : WOODWARD, MURPHY, DEEP SEA, COMAP, CAT (ADEM, PEEC, EMCP), Firing and ignition systems: WAUKESHA.
- MCCs, MV & LV Switchgear, distribution transformers ( ALLEN BRADLEY, SQUARE D, GE, EATON CUTLER HAMMER, ABB, SCHNEIDER, SIEMENS, POWELL, SOCOMEC.
