• Proactively managing the impaired loan portfolio by employing a variety of remedial management techniques to improve credit quality, maximize recoveries, consequently reducing provisions / losses & costs to the Bank.
• Approving credit proposals for Settlement, Rescheduling, Restructuring, deferments & modifications, and decision making on payoffs / short payoffs for curing stressed loans.
• As delivery owner of credit strategies & policies across recoveries, incorporating hands-on approach & strategic use of litigation, enforcement of security and other tactical solutions.
• Undertaking remedial / legal actions for recovery of loans, including monitoring of legal suits & execution of judgments obtained in recovery of debts.
• Facilitating field offices & borrowers on negotiating credit plans for maximizing recoveries from impaired loan accounts and delivery on assigned targets.
• Establishing & maintaining risk assessments to identify & assess material risks that arise in the area of responsibility.
• Implementing a program of continuous improvement embedded across all Regional Teams, development & deployment of strong risk controls and diligent ownership of the unit budget.
• Prepare & present Credit proposals for higher management / Credit Committee of the bank.

Director - Financial Crimes Investigation at National Accountability Bureau (On Deputation from National Bank of Pakistan)

National Accountability Bureau, country’s apex anti-corruption organization, is entrusted with the responsibility to investigate & prosecute offences of corruption, particularly pertaining to Banks and Financial Institutions. Reporting to Director General, was responsible for:
• Managing teams of investigative experts to ensure successful investigations into financial crimes including Bank Frauds, Bank Defaults, Financial Corruption & Embezzlement, and Money Laundering, etc. which may originate from the Central Bank, Banks, Financial Institutions, Law Enforcement Agencies, or referrals.
• Guiding Investigation teams on planning & execution of investigations, and identifying best practices & procedures to be followed at different stages of investigations.
• Maximizing recovery of embezzled funds through Arrests, seizure of assets, prosecution in Accountability Courts, Voluntary Return and Plea Bargains offered by accused persons.
• Recommending actions for fraud prevention, process improvement, control weaknesses as well as trends identified in investigations, those that facilitated fraud crime.
• Taking immediate decisions on legal situations in liaison with the Legal experts.
• As Member of the Executive Board, presenting investigation reports for necessary approvals.

• Credit Analysis (Credit & financial evaluation) of Corporate Credit proposals, involving in-depth business, industry & financial analysis of various businesses in diverse industries including Textile, Energy, Sugar, Cement, Real Estate, etc. This entails various types of financing such as Working Capital, Long Term, Project / Green Field, Syndicate & Consortium financing and also Rescheduling & Restructuring of loan accounts.
• Handle complex transactions as well as a regular transaction flow with a highly deadline focused approach and systematic step-by-step analysis of all internal & external factors & events that directly or indirectly impact the normal repayment of funds.
• Responsible for credit/risk analysis of the Bank’s credit and investment accounts assigned and follow up to complete credit reviews of assigned accounts in time.
• In-depth scrutiny & analysis of Credit Proposals involving Risk Analysis vis-à-vis Qualitative factors, Quantitative factors, Sensitivity Analysis, Credit structuring and Approval & Documentation.
• Assess client requirements and structure credit facilities in line with the Bank’s credit policies.
• Independently interact with Bank’s key clients, reviewing Risk Ratings assigned to customers
