• Managing to maximize recoveries and minimize losses on bank's classified loans and exposures that may have resulted from problems or business failures of the borrowers & bank's own poor lending practices or irresponsible account management
• Managing to achieve measurable targets for collections
• Set monthly collection targets, Work-out collection strategies & monitor the classified portfolio on an ongoing basis and initiate appropriate remedial measures as warranted by improvement / deterioration
• Managing a portfolio of classified borrowers at CIBG (Domestic/Overseas). It requires specialized workout skills in addition to experience, know-how and expertise of a credit manager as well as a relationship manager
• Managing restructured & rescheduled borrowers
• Review assigned portfolio for rationalization and to recommend and process approvals for charge-off
• Control repossessed cars are stored in the bank’s yard, insurance cover is maintained at all times, full inventory is maintained, car auction sale and release is done as per the process
• Maintaining strong working relationship and close interaction within the bank department
• Display a mature approach that leads to a balanced risk & reward equation for the bank
• Negotiations with borrowers; onsite visits to borrowers' place of business to evaluate proposals for and revival of the problem projects with special attention to cash flow capabilities and assessment of financial strength & negotiate syndication's with other banks also
• Keep abreast of developments in political, legal and economical fields of the UAE and various overseas locations the bank operates in
• Institute and monitor legal actions against willful defaulters; familiar with the legal framework and have the know-how to recommend next course of action. In consultation with Bank's legal officers to evaluate effectiveness of external legal counsels and their fees structure.
