Task & Responsibilities
➢ Supervise the financial functions of regional marketing office.
➢ Treasury Management: Currency dealing with banks, negotiation of bank charges, interest, forward rates, currency speculations, trade service functions, supervise LC documentation, control on financial instruments. Cash flow reporting, forecast and arrangement of cash requirements, bank financing etc
➢ Transfer pricing: Approval of orders and transfer price for each sale transaction as per corporate norms. Reconciliation of local sales with the transfer policy and arrange debit/credit notes to the intercompany suppliers.
➢ Netback analysis and comparison with other regionals of Sasol. Review of market position discussion with marketing personnel on profitability and forecast which is crucial input for further procurement within the region.
➢ Preparation of annual budgets, forecasts and cash flow statements. Assisting corporate finance team in policies and procedure.
➢ Credit management, customer's financial reviews, recommendation of credit limits and discussions with marketing personnel, Introducing new payment terms.
➢ Monitoring DSO, age analysis, overdue status and periodic review of all accounts
➢ Negotiation with customers for payment terms, cash discounts, volume discounts and order status etc. Facilitating bank finance for the high value customers and special deals.
➢ Cash flow reporting: regular review of cash position. Forecast and implement the payment process to suppliers and principals. Review capital projects.
➢ Corporate reporting. Provide input on local commercial expenses to calculate the profitability and netback within the region
➢ Assist internal/External audit process.
➢ Review of financial procedures and amendments, monitor the adherence to the corporate policies and procedures in line with ERP system (SAP)
➢ Negotiation with high value procurements and regular tenders by shipping companies. Support and assistance to commercial functions.
➢ Supervise storage functions, inventory movements and planning process.
➢ Monitor inventory levels and analyze the NRV and landed cost of materials.
➢ SAP coordinator for the region: participation in software enhancements, training local staff, access controls
➢ Key person in obtaining ISO certification for regional office as MR. Drafted all policies and procedure for the company.
➢ HR functions such as payroll and supervise the leave records etc.

➢ Obtained the ISO 9001:2008 certification for Sasol Middle East in 2010 by implementing management systems.
➢ Successfully implemented the SAP system for regional office in Middle East by integrating all functions.
➢ Recipient of extra miles award for the efforts taken in Middle East Region in system implementation and Financial Management during 2002/2003.
➢ Introduced structured financial solutions for distributors in conjunction with Standard Chartered Bank in UAE in various countries. Presented this new payment system called "Buyer Finance" in Euro Finance Conference along with Standard Chartered Bank conducted in Dubai during 2008.
➢ Participated in various financial conferences/seminars conducted by financial institutions in Dubai as speaker//panelist. Represented oil & gas sector in certain seminars.
