I transferred to Cheshire Constabulary in March 2009 having previously worked in both Surrey Police and West Mercia Constabulary. I am an accredited Detective having completed the Initial Crime Investigators Development Programme. I worked as a member of a specialist team investigating murders, unexplained deaths, joint investigations into deaths in the workplace with the Health and Safety Executive and the investigation of serious and complex crime such as stranger rape.
I am multi-skilled and undertook key roles within investigations. These roles included file officer preparing meticulous paperwork for court, disclosure officer ensuring all documents were logged, assessed and dealt with in accordance with UK Home Office rules of disclosure, exhibits officer cataloguing all exhibits and ensuring their movements were documented and they were handled correctly and family liaison officer conducting any family related investigations and providing victims with an excellent quality of service and ensuring they were kept updated with progress of investigations.
I am also trained for and have performed interviewing roles for suspects, key and significant witnesses and child victims and witnesses. I have planned and prepared thoroughly for the interviews, conducted the interviews in accordance with current UK Home Office guidelines and then ensured that timely and accurate transcript of the interviews are prepared.
All of these roles have contributed to me acquiring excellent skills which are transferrable to other industries. I pay meticulous attention to detail in all research, written work and presentations. I am able to adapt my communication skills to any given situation. I work well under highly pressured situations and am able to meet strict deadlines for work.
