1. Assistant Secretary to the University Council, Senate, Congregation and Convocation.
2. Assistant Secretary to all committees of Governing Council and Senate
3. Co-ordinates the Governing Council and Senate Secretariat. Job assigned are to:
a. Service Senate meetings which involve the issuance of notices, minutes of Senate meetings and the follow-up actions on the decisions of Senate.
b. Assist the Registrar in arranging for all Governing Council meetings by ensuring timely and effective dissemination of information.
c. Liaise with other officers (such as the Vice Chancellor, Deputy Vice Chancellors, Registrar, Deans, Unit Heads, etc) in the University on issues relating to Council meetings in order to ensure smooth and hitch-free meetings.
d. Ensure that submissions to the Governing Council from the various unit heads and committees concerned are prepared in good time and forwarded to the Registrar.
e. Facilitate the actual conduct of procedures by prompt distribution of minutes, reports and papers as the case may be.
f. Write minutes, raise matters arising and follow-up actions for the Registrar and Secretary to Council.
4. Custodian of all files in the Registry Secretariat including those of Senate and Governing Council.
5. Assists the Registrar, Deputy Vice Chancellor and Vice Chancellor in the drafting of letters / memos.
6. Answers and transfers telephone calls to the Registrar.
7. Receives registered incoming mails for onward passage to the Registrar after highlighting the salient points on each mail.
8. Receives visitors and/or students; deals with enquiries on behalf of the Registrar and refers same to the Registrar, if necessary or to the appropriate schedule officer(s).
9. Supervises other staff in the Secretariat to ensure appropriate adherence to office ethics and performance of duties.
10. Represents the Registrar at official functions outside the University
11. Represents the Registrar as secretary to the Committee of Deans and Academic Directors.
12. Acts as Master of Ceremony (MC) at University programmes / functions such as International Conferences, Seminars, Workshops, Matriculations, Convocations, etc.
13. Performs other functions as may be assigned by the Registrar.
1. Plan school curriculum in conjunction with Head of Departments in accordance with the National Policy on Education (NPE).
2. Plan school lesson time table.
3. Check and mark teacher’s lesson plans, notes and diaries regularly.
4. Check regularly to ensure that teachers teach according to the planned and approved scheme of work.
5. Liaise with the disciplinary master to ensure that teachers attend to their lessons on time.
6. Ensure that absentee teachers’ lessons are promptly and appropriately covered.
7. Take accurate record of teachers entitled to extra lesson payments at the end of the month.
8. Liaise with Head of Departments to ensure that appropriate textbooks are given to both students and teachers; with adequate reference books for the library.
9. Ensure that students are in their classes at the appropriate time.
10. Liaise with the Guidance & Counselor to ensure that adequate extra - curricular activities, career talks and guidance are provided for the students.
11. Plan and organize supplementary lessons for “weak” students.
12. Prepare students result after examination.
13. Analyze student’s performance after examination
14. Prepare final year students’ transcripts, testimonials and mock results.
15. Ensure that students are adequately prepared for both national examinations (WAEC, NECO & JAMB), and International examinations (SAT, ACT, TOEFL, IELTS, PEARSON & IGCSE).
