Provide skilled nursing care within a multidisciplinary environment using the HOPE model, to ensure Compassionate, safe and effective patient care. Manages individualized, goal-directed nursing care through use of the nursing process in accordance with departmental and hospital policies and procedures.
• Provide direct nursing care to patients on a shift by shift basis in a defined clinical setting
• Prepare plan of care for each patient using nursing process, patient's needs assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation using the HOPE model and best practices options.
• Demonstrate the skills and judgment necessary to implement medical /nursing plan of care, nursing interventions, and procedures, as necessary for the care of the patient
• Supports senior staff to identify opportunities for improvement in care provision and implement improvement plans.
• Engage patients and their families in planning care and reassess their needs every 24 hours, or more if required, in order to continuously improve the quality of care delivered.
• Support the completion of a full nursing assessment and any related orders on admission.
• Commence discharge planning on admission
• Maintains and communicates up-to-date and accurate documentation of nursing care provided to ensure the integration of information for use by the healthcare team in order to ensure seamless care.
• Educate patients and families on the care and management of condition and to adopt a problem solving approach to managing complications.
• Demonstrates knowledge and follows policies and procedures.
• Minimize patient risk and ensures a safe environment and working conditions by following control measures within the ward and reporting opportunities for improvement through DATIX.
• Participate in quality activities and in improvement plan monitoring activities.
• Continues own education and professional development.
• Apply and maintain infection control and safety.
• Being culturally aware of patient and families and colleagues.
• Reports all complaints through the Chain of Command.
• Perform other assigned tasks relevant to this role as designated by the Head Nurse

Provides rapid resuscitation, stabilization and transfer of critically ill patients. Provides disaster care to the community in the events of Major Incidences. Receives and assesses direct admissions to the hospital, including patient en route to intensive care areas within the hospital. It caters for both adult and pediatric patients.
• Triage patients based on their level of acuity
• Provide emergency first aid and treatment
• Performs ABG sample collection
• Performs peripheral intravenous access and blood extraction
• Performs ECG and close monitoring
• Team member in BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP
• Send patients to other departments with care for diagnostics
• Administers oral, intramuscular, intravenous medications
• Performs gastric lavage
• Performs insertion of urinary catheter
• Assists in minor surgeries
• Assists in imminent deliveries
• Performs 24hour and monthly census
• Performs point of care treatment such as capillary blood glucose and urine dipstick
• Administers Narcotics and high alert medications
• Performs daily ambulance checking and mortuary checking
• Performs daily replacement of stocks and equipment
• Reports damaged equipment to BIOMED and checks PPM daily
• Ensures compliance to the general hospital policy and procedures
• Follows proper reporting of incidents
